Good morning cards with Craft Smith

Hello everyone !

The day before moving, I had a very short time that I could use to be creative, so I decide to use the paper pad I bought not long ago (a steal, $5 at Michaels !), called Sunday Morning by Craft Smith.
I had enough time to create two quick cards with my favorite technique, fussy cutting, and that was very relaxing with all that movign stress...

Those cards are 5"x7", usign two journaling tag and two sheets of pattern papers. It's not easy to catch it with a camera, but these papers are gold foiled. The cut out image were perfect to add to these saying.

All my statsh in in the garage now as my new house (where I already live) is still being remodel (painting and flooring), but I have one more project in my sleeve to show you, and that will probably be on Monday, so don't forget to come back to see what it is ! Hint : paints and stamps are involved...

Thank you for stopping by, I wish you a good Friday and a fantastic week end !

Create an altered box with moulds and paints

Hello !

You know my love of colors... Well, this new project is surely colorful !

This is a paper mache box covered with almost everything I had in hand ! (so not true, I really have too much stash...). I started by applying heavy gesso over a damask stencil. Next I created embellishments with moulds and paper clay like crazy !

Once everything was in place I added metal embellishments, buttons, stones and flowers, and covered everything with white gesso.

And when it was dry, I started playing with colors... I used Dragon Fruit medium (sorry discountinued but so pretty I had to use it), Fidji Velvet medium and Gold Metal Effect by Art Anthology.

Is it something you would have in your home or would offer to a friend ? I am thinking about starting an Etsy shop but have really no idea if my projects would have buyers... So I need your input on that, send me your cheers !

Thank you for stopping by today, it's always a pleasure to have visitors !
Have a great day !

The butterly effect mask

Hi there !

I am on the Art Anthology blog today with another altered mask, very different from the other by style and choice of colors...

I cut some gears in cardstock and grungeboard with cutting dies (Alterations Bigz Die Gears and Thinlits gears)and glued them along with metal ones on the mask before adding some Mud paste in which I imprint a texture stamp, and white gesso. Once dried, I applied Cotton Velvet, and higlighted the gears with mediums from the Rust Texture set.

I finally added some Waimea Bay Colorations spray to make the rusty gears pop.

If you want to know more about my creative process on this project, you can watch my video tutorial here, on my YouTube channel or on the Art Anthology channel :

Thank you for your time, hope to see you very soon for another project !

Layout for the March More Than Word challenge

Hi there !

I did slow down crafty things a little this week, as I will be moving next Monday... But I did have time to play with the March challenge of the More Than Word blog.

scrapbooking layout with stencils, stamps and layers

I almost use all the colors in the colour combo :

The word inspiration was : COMFORTABLE. What makes me comfortable ? It could have been a picture of a lounge chair with a blanket, a book, and a fancy coffee. Could have been one of my favorite dress. But sitting on a branch outside barefoot definitively won the prize ! So I found this lovely picture on internet and decide that it will reflect perfectly a comfortable mood !

I did a lot of work on this layout ! I started by choosing papers from the Celebration collection by Maja Designs (I won it from a previous challenge, see me unbox this prize there ).
Then I started the background by playing with stamps, stencils, watercolor pencils, gold crackle paste, gesso...

I did continue to add layers with a Tim Holtz cutting die with green cardstock, flower dies with white cardstock, microbeads in gold and berry, some watered gesso, golden twine, die cut leaves and flowers.

I layered the paper too, using stitching rectangle dies, black pen and gold ink to give more dimensions.

Well, that took me a while... Luckily, I have prepared my tomorrow's post in advance, so you are covered for you daily dose of creativity... I have a another mixe media project for nex week, so you will not suffer from my lack of presence due to my moving !

Thank you for stopping by today. Wish me luck for this challenge. And see you tomorrow !

Blue and gold masquerade mask

My daughter needed a blue mask for her play of Romeo in her English class, so I jumped in to create quickly one for her...

I made it with few things found at Hobby Lobby : a mask, air dry clay, a fondant mould, cobalt and gold paints.
The trick is to get out the delicate design out of the mould. Put it on the freezer for few minutes helps. If it already to dry, try to spray a little of water over it and you will be able to bend it to adhere the mask. Don't wait until it's completely dry or it will be to flat to be glued on the mask.

Do you like this one ? So easy and quick to create ! I have another mask coming up next week, filled with mixed media products and gears... Hope to see you then, but other projects will pop up before, so don't wait and stop by soon !

Have a great day !

Tulum, Mexico double page layout

Hi there !

It tooks me so long to create another double layout ! The last one was in January, 2014 ! In fact, the pictures in this last layout were taken during a cruise trip in Jamaica. And today's spread has cruise pictures as well, but from the one I've just sail two weeks ago !

I create this double layout for my group of French ladies, to teach them how to use washi tapes, with some reminder about previous classes about stamps and gesso... I took inspiration from another cruise layout (still the Jamaica one).
So I gessoed (is it a verb ?) a little bit the pages, and completely the big chipboard letters for the title. I covered the letters with washi and trimmed the excess.

Before adding washi to the layout, I stamped a brick pattern with Oxide ink. Then I added strip of washi and stamped again with floral and travel designs.

I recommand using Stazon ink to stamp, because pigment ink will smear on washi. I use the Timber brown there.

This cruise will not be the last for me this year, as I will have the pleasure to go on the Art Anthology cruise in May for a week ! Have you been on a crop cruise already ? It's my first and I'm very excited about it ! You can find all the details about this amazing cruise on this page, and it's not to late to register ! Let me know if you will be there and you can follow the Facebook group too !

I can't wait for this new adventure, I hope to see you there ! But come back to my blog before that, because I have so many projects to share before !
Thank you for your time, and have a great day !

Industrial cards with Oxidized Silver Texture set

Hi !

I'm up on the Art Anthology blog today with an unusual project for me, something dark... Yes, no colors, just black and silver !

I used the Oxidized Silver Texture set, the Sterling Fairy Dust spray and the Ringlets stencil to make the background.

A stamp and a stitch circle die were used to create the sentiment. That is a nice set of cards quick and easy to make ! If you want to know more about my creative process on these cards, watch my new tutorial on the Art Anthology channel or here :

Black and yellow card with Bo Bunny papers

Hi !

We have a beautiful sunny day here in Houston and it's the perfect day to share a sunshiny card !

I made this card with few things : one sheet of On this day paper by Bo Bunny, black cardstock, a word die by Tim Holtz and black washi tape !

I first cut out the sunflower and the white squares on yellow journal card of one side of the paper, and then use the other side to cut a 4"x5"1/2 rectangle. I distressed the edges of the two yellow papers with Black Soot ink, adhere the black washi and the sunflower on the squares paper, then cut the word in black cardstock.
I also cut a 3"13/16x 5"1/16 rectangle in the black paper. I assembly everything and tada here is my card !

A quick card that can fit everyday! I hope you like it, and you will come for many more cards (or layouts, or mixed media...)
Thank you for your time and see you soon !

Choose you priorities ATC

Hello fellows...

Some ays ago I made ATCs for the Art Anthology blog, and I did want to play agin with this adorable format, so I made some more, in green this time :

I used white cardstock for the base, with Avocado Colorations spray, and stamp with a broken glass stamp. I randomly paint few broken pieces with different mediums (Reef, Lagoon, and Fidji)

Then I stamp with a numbers background stamp in Emerald ink. I outlined some of the number with a white gel pen. After that, I stamped the butterflies with black ink, as well as the quote.

I colored the butterflies with Sunshine and Tango mediums by Art Anthology, and the word "priorities" with Honolulu.
The last touches were the lines with black pen and black distress ink on the edges.

That's it for today ! I hope you liked what you saw...
Thank for stopping by and see you soon for something different...
