A mix-media layout for Scrapping Clearly

Hello everyone !

I wish a great birthday to all of those born a 20th of April ! You are some very special folks and capable of incredible things !
So, for my birthday, I will show my last layout, made with the Scrapping Clearly sketch for April :

MONTHLY SKETCH

I used papers from the Urban Market paper pack by Teresa Collins, washi tapes by Tim Holtz and We R Memory Keepers, Black Magic and Granite glimmer mists by Tattered Angels, Tea Dye distress ink by Tim Holtz, acrylic stamp by Prima Marketing, black sewing thread, silver microbeads, modeling paste and black watercolor pencil.

I made the title with an old collection of alpha stickers by Sticko :

I glued the microbeads with a gel medium.
You can see that I stamped into the modeling paste to create some dimensional effect :

Why "beauties of Brittany" as a title ? If you have seen my previous work, you probably notice that my daughters are more multi-countries kinda girls. I took the picture last year during an extra-short stop in Brittany to see our friends, and we all loved the landscape and beauty of this land, so in this picture I recognize the Brittany's and my daughter's beauties...

See you soon.
Kisses from your forever young (favorite) papercrafter !

Christmas tree farm mini-album with DCWV Insta Fun

I printed few pictures of a family day from some years ago and never find time to make a mini of them. When I looked at the accordion Insta Fun mini albums sent by DCWV, I knew I will use one for these pictures !
Every year in November when we lived in Houston, we made a trip to the Christmas tree farm to cut our own tree. So for the cover of my album, I choose to hand cut a Christmas tree into the Insta Photo Fun foiled kraft and white cardstock 4x4 paper pad  :

To decorate the inside, I used the Winter in the Woods collection (I got leftovers...)

And I fussy cut the deers...

...the pine cones...

...the pine tree...

and add some hand journaling to finish the album on the other side.

Now I got a super cute mini to remember this great Christmas routine !

Have a great week-end and see you on Monday !

Prima Marketing DT call application

Hi everyone !

If you didn't hear about the new Prima Marketing DT call, ask my husband. He knows all about it, because I can't stop talking about what they are looking for, who are the past DT members (and some are in my favorite designers list), how someone can apply...
He also knows my doubts, fears and hopes about my own application. It's always very difficult to apply publicly to a DT call, because everybody will know you tried, and maybe failed.

Anyway, no pain, no gain, so I will apply right now and show the world (and Prima) some of my best projects with their products. It's gonna be a long post because I do love Prima products and I have made a lot of projects with them... Let's start with a layout I made for the April BAP challenge with the Stationer's desk collection (and please be patient and scroll down to the end of this post, you will find unpublished work...) :

The next layout was made for the April C'est Magnifique Sketch challenge :

This one for the Scrap-Lifting blog :

Next project is a altered mask, with a lot of painted Prima flowers :

Another layout for the January BAP challenge :

A Christmas tag with a wood ATC and Prima poinsettias :

I did play with a Bloom Girl stamp... (and my favorite technique, fussy cutting) :

I kept my never-published-even-on-my-blog projects for the end of this post... I will make individual post about them later to show you more details.
A layout with the Cartographer collection :

And at last two mini-albums, one with the wood ATC and ATC pad from the Cartographer's collection :

The other with Stationer's desk :

Of course, I didn't put all my Prima-based projects in this post, not enough space in just one post for that...

I hope you enjoyed looking at these creations. Cross your fingers for me, they are so many talented designers out there, I maybe will need some luck too...

You're invited - A CCB Creative Crew challenge

Great Monday to you !

Spring has always a wonderful effect on me, as I'm a Spring child : the first rays of sun gave me a full reload of energy and enough courage to jump into Spring cleaning ! So this week end was all about decluttering, washing, ironing... and not really scrapbooking.
But I have plenty of projects in my pocket, and today I will show you a card I made for the Crew Challenge of Canvas Corp Brands blog. The theme was to create an invitation, and I choose to create a card to invite my friends to travel with me. Ok it's not a real invitation for a real trip. It's the card I would make if I could afford to invite them all to a real trip. It's a little dream I have...

I use some 7Gypsies stamps with white embossing powder (Ranger) on white cardstock and brush some Bahama Blue glimmer mist over the stamps. I add shells from the nearest beach (Les Saintes-Marie-de-la-mer if you a little bit of Provence) and burlap leftover.
The edges of the card are covered with clear granular gel medium (Golden) painted with Caspian Sea glimmer glam
The title came straight from a poem of Charles Baudelaire, Invitation au voyage (invitation to travel), talking about an imaginary travel to an beautiful imaginary country...

Take a tour on the CCB blog to see the work of the other Crew Members and be inspired to create your own invitation for your future event !

April Prima BAP layout

I was inspired by the new Prima sketch this month :

2015 April bap keren

I used the Stationer's desk collection, fussy cut the paper with roses, stamped and colored with red watercolor pencil randomly, and used a black watercolor pencil to darkened the edges of the layout.

I used rub-on letters for the title (Making Memories). I also colored the wood butterfly with red and black watercolor pencils.

If you look closely, you can see that I add some doddle to the stamped design...

Hope you like it ! See you soon !

Kids craft for Mother's day with step-by-step

Hello !

Be careful, May will be there sooner than you think, and Mother's Day will be there in a snap ! If you want to create a card for it, or if you are looking for a kid's project, you are in the right place ! I have the perfect project for you ! Both adults or kids can do it with a great result...Here is the card I created, I will show you how in a sec.

You will need :
- a square card (Mine is 5 3/4 x 5 3/4)
- white cardstock
- Baby Santa (red) glimmer mist
- Party Pink (strong pink) glimmer mist
- Barn Red glimmer mist
- sentiment stamp
- Red ink pad
- jute cord
- glue dots
- foam dots
- a white wax crayon (like the Crayola one)

First, with the white crayon, drawn 4 hearts with a simple pattern inside (dots, stripes...). Spray the 3 different glimmer mists over it.

Let them dry. You can use an heat gun to speed up the process. then cut the hearts with scissors.

Spray the edges of the card with the inks. Let it dry.
Cut a square of 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 in the white cardstock. Pull the string around the right side 4 times. Adhere on the back with a glue dot. Place the hearts on the the strings with glue dots.

With the red distress ink, stamp the sentiment of your choice on the left side. Adhere the square on the card. You're done !
It's a really easy and quick project, I wish you a lot of fun with it !

April C'est Magnifique sketch challenge

Hi everyone !

I hope you had a great Easter week end ! Mine was filled with chocolates and family, like most of us I think...
Time to get back to scrapbooking and play with the new sketch from C'est Magnifique Kits :

I'm still working on my Istanbul album from last year's trip, so I choose a picture of my daughters in the garden of the Dolmabache palace. The colors were vibrant, so I had to use a colorful background, here a K&Company paper :

We do have a lot of layers here. First white modeling paste over a damask stencil by Prima Marketing
Second, gold microbeads with gel medium. Third, glimmer mists (Tattered leather and olive vine) and white ink spray,

Plus some stamps around the edges (Prima Marketing) and distress inks (Ranger). Then different teared papers with a die cut (Spellbinders).

Then flowers (Prima Marketing) and leaves (I Am Roses). And the finishing touch, the pearl flourishes (Prima Marketing). I re-colored the small roses from the flourishes with a gold marker (American Crafts).

And this layout will not be completely mine if I hadn't fussy cut something, so I fussy cut the title "Beautimus" from an acrylic stamp (Prima Marketing).

I am in love with the result, I hope you like it too !
See you soon...

DCWV April layout sketch

When I saw the layout sketch from DCWV, I immediately though of pictures I took last year in Istanbul. I didn't know how to scrap them because they are heavily detailed, but the clean design of the sketch was a great match ! Let's take a look at the sketch :

And here is my layout, with pictures of the Topkapi Palace cellings in Istanbul, Turkey :

With all these beautiful decorations, the Luxury Stack (in 12x12 and 6x6) was a perfect fit, as well as the damask dies from Sizzix (like this one, they are on huge clearance on Sizzix.com)

I even found in my stash some Sizzix rub-ons for the date...

The black paper came from the Chalkboard stack, and yes I fussy cut it to mat the damask designs...

April sketch from Feeling Sketchy

Hello !

We are now in April, so let's go with a new sketch from Feeling Sketchy ! I choose (obviously) an Easter theme for my card using this sketch :

I used papers from the Little Miss stack by DCWV, Jolee's Boutique stickers, and a cute image from our sponsor : Bugaboo !

I didn't mention it, but I colored the digi with Copics, and the adhesive I used was some Scor-Tape.

Take a look at the beautiful creations of our new DT at Feeling Sketchy and be inspired to play with us, you could win a prize from our sponsors Bugaboo !
