Prima August CAT challenge card

Four days left to create something for the Card, ATC or Tag (CAT) challenge of Prima's blog ? No problem, let's do a card... Here is the sketch :

From Prima I used the En Francais 6x6 paper pad and blue lace, stamp from the Merci July Nutting set, damask stencil with gold crackle paste, a wood embellishment (hot balloon) and flowers :

I just add a ribbon, two metal leaves and drops of glimmer mists (Tattered Angels) to complete this card.

Let's have a closer look :

I applied some navy blue glimmer mist over the crackle paste once dried to emphasize the crackles.

Let's hope this card will please the Prima team...
See you soon (school start next week in France so more crafty time !) for other projects !

Mixed Media Altered Bottle with Tattered Angels

Hello crafters !

While explaining what mixed media could be to my sister-in-law, I took the example of a bottle of champagne (we did have a celebration this day...) to talk about the process of altering it, and with one more glass of this champagne, I did promise to create one for her living room... And this beauty is now at her home !

Some close-ups :

The great thing about mixed media is that you can finally use long forgotten embellishments what ever color they are ! You will see in the video (yes I made a video tutorial...you will find the link at the bottom of this post), that the flowers are in different kind of colors : orange, silver, white... And I didn't need Gesso at all for this project !

The microbeads are in fact originally used for home decor, so don't forget to check all the craft store's aisles, you never know what you will find for your next project...

Materials :
- Decor & DIY paint - Zinc (Tattered Angels)
- Festival, Black Magic and Silver Sugar glimmer mists (Tattered Angels)
- Gerber baseboard (Tattered Angels)
- wine bottle
- old book page
- glue (Fabri-Tac/Beacon Adhesives)
- laces
- mesh
- flowers
- metal and/or handmade clay embellishments
- microbeads
- buttons
- Kraft butterflies (Maya Road)
- gel medium
- black distress ink (Ranger)

Tools :
- heat gun
- paint brushes
- stencil (TCW)

You can find a video tutorial to create this bottle on my YouTube channel :

Thank you for stopping by ! I hope you like this project and you will come back to see what I am crafting next...

Every day bright pink card

Hello everyone !

I am very frustrated these days because I cannot sit at my craft table (or any table) to create projects to share with you, due to an awful back ache.
But I do have few projects in my sleeve that I've made before, so I can still keep running my blog...

For today it's a bright everyday card that I will show you. You know my love for bright color... And this one is pink ! The cardbase came from a card stack by DCWV, full of bright canvas card. I made another card with the same base a while ago.

Materials and tools used :

- paper back canvas card in bright pink by DCWV
- denim sheet from 12x12 Premium DCWV stack
- papers from the Ocean Breeze stack by DCWV
- half pearls (Want2Scrap)
- white lace (Hobby Lobby)
- Fabric-Tac (Beacon Adhesives)
- Cricut with Flower Shoppe cartridge

Cross your finger for me, I will see the doctor this afternoon, and maybe with few chiropractic sessions I will be able to craft again...

Have a great day !

DCWV Peacock coloring page and Chameleon pens

Remember the Chameleon pens I received last month in my DCWV DT package ? Well, I did use them while on vacations, relaxing with a nice coloring page from the Birds and Butterflies Color&Create stack by DCWV !

I just mat the finished page with purple and green cardstock (DCWV) to make the peacock pop out the black.

Thank you for stopping by. Hope you will have a great week end !

August Prima BAP sketch challenge layout

How did I end up with a shabby layout ? I have no idea but that's what the new sketch of the Prima's blog inspired me :

Well, a lot to explain in this page... I started by applying some watercolor in pink and violet randomly, then some scripture stamp on a paper from the Tales of You&Me collection.
I found in my stash rub-ons from a very old collection (Dizon and Lyon) for the center of the page. I think it matches very well this sheet of paper.

The ephemeras are from the same kit then the paper, just distressed with ink and gesso.
I fussy cut the flowers and the butterflies. Metal flowers are covered with gesso and pink paint (Tattered Angels). All the paper flowers are Prima ones.
A little bit of lace and I had all I wanted for this layout !

Will you play with the sketch too ? It was fun to do so !

I wish you a wonderful day, and hope to see you soon for another project...

August More than Words challenge layout

Hello !

Another layout to share with you, made for the More than Words main challenge. The word should be "friends" and the creative part should be "circles".

Here is what I created for this challenge :

I started with a white and yellow DCWV paper (Marquee), sprayed with Topaz baseboard, Black Magic and Denim Blue glimmer mists by Tattered Angels. I then applied paste (Shimmerz Paints) in Muddy puddy and foiled again over a TCW stencil. The stamp around the layout is a honeycomb stamp by Prima Marketing.

The washi tapes (We R Memory Keepers, Recollections) give some direction for the eyes in this layout, along with hand draw lines (Faber-Castell pens).
Blue paper came from the Copper Blues stack and the black one from the Jet Black stack (DCWV).

Did you notice I've got circle on my layout AND on my picture ?
These two girls are best friends (and one of them is my daughter).
So I did complete the challenge, don't you think ?

Have a nice Sunday and see you soon !

Embossed foil party favor tins tutorial

Saturday in Summer are always filled with wedding party around here ! Beautiful landscapes, olive tree, sunshine, the sound of cicadas... are the perfect background for these particular days.
So why not have a little craft wedding party for ourselves today ?
I had these cute party favor tins since a while now, and I found in my last DT package from DCWV the perfect paper to go with it... the silver sheet from the Embossed Foil stack ! So I gathered few more supplies and ended up with this cute tins (and they're for Valentine's favors too... or any party with other colors !) :

So here is what I used : the silver sheet from Embossed Foil stack and red cardstock by DCWV, some red dot rubbon by May Art Ribbons, a Sizzix die for the leaves, mini glue Dots, Score-Tape and roses by I Am Roses.

You need first to measure the perimeter of your tin and the height below the lid to cut your silver paper.

Add double-sided tape around the tin and on the top of the lid.

Remove the tape protection and apply the paper.

Cut leaves in the red cardstock.

With double-sided tape, apply ribbon around the lid.
With mini dots, adhere roses and part of leaves on the top of the lid.

Easy, quick AND cute, right ? You're going to craft like crazy now... or at least I hope so !

I wish you a very happy week end,
Another project is coming...

August DCWV sketch card

Good morning !

I did show you the layout yesterday, so time to show you the card for the August's DCWV sketch challenge :

I only use papers from the Coral Couture stack for this card beside adhesives by Glue Dots.
I fussy cut flowers and butterfly to place them where I wanted them on the card... One of the white flowers is on a 3D foam square, and I folded the butterfly to add dimension.

I hope you will have fun playing with the DCWV sketches, and see you soon for more projects.
Have a great day !

August DCWV sketch layout

Hello everyone !

I choose the Coral and Navy stack to create a layout for this month's DCWV sketch challenge. I just add some Crushed Coral Texturez paste (Shimmerz paints) over a stencil (Prima Marketing), Walnut stain distress ink (Ranger), and lace (Recollections and Maya Road).

Of course I had to fussy cut the flowers...
Love the 3D effect of the Texturez paste :

You will find also a card sketch on the DCWV blog, along with my sample (I will post about it tomorrow...). You can send your project to DCWV until end of August for a chance to win a fabulous prize !

See you tomorrow then...
