Another way to stencil

Hello everybody !

Let's play with stencils and different mediums today ! First the layout...

If you know me a little, you have spotted the K&Company paper for the background...
Let's take a closer look :

What is this white pattern ? It's the bamboo stencil by Prima Marketing used with...white gel pen !
I just outline the pattern of the stencil with the pen and filled it with the same pen. OK, my Sakura white gel pen is dead. He was a good friend and I will miss him so much...

What else ?
Leaves stamp by Autumn Leaves with Colorbox ink, Mister Huey's turquoise ink spray, I Am Roses flowers and metal charms from Istanbul...

What about the layering papers ?
Scales stencil by Prima with medium gel and Miser Huey' ink, acrylic stamp By Prima Marketing with green paint and golden flakes, faded dots stencil by Tim Holtz with dark blue Colorbox ink, Inkadinkado stamp with Colorbox ink.

The title was print and fussy cut, and adhere with adhesive foam squares for the final touch.
The sketch #119 from Sketchabilities inspired me for the design of this layout.

Hope you like my different ways of using stencil in this layout.
Wishing a good day !

Almost steampunk birthday card

I made this card last month for a friend of mine who loves dragon. I couldn't resist to this cute little one by Sureya I found on deviantart. I really love this artist, and I have more coloring to come... But for now, let's take a look at Yuki and Danger :

You can maybe recognize a K&Company paper, DCWV adhesive Stack in brown, I Am Roses flowers and leaves, vintage photo distress ink by Tim Holtz, Copic markers, and free sentiment stamps from a UK card magazine.

I really love how it turns, especially the hair. I was going for a steampunk look, but finally end with a cute look...Never mind...

I wish you a good week and a lovely Monday !

Prima Marketing shabby layout

Hi !

Still writing from the mountain, where we had a great summery day yesterday, and snow this morning !

I have a shabby layout to share, made with mostly Prima Marketing products :

For once, you cannot find bright colors in this layout. The shabby style seems perfect for this lovely picture of my first newborn.
I used a 12x12 sheet of embossed chipboard (Prima), with papers (Fairy Belle collection), flowers and stamps (Prima), with gesso and pink paint, Vintega photo distress ink by Tim Holtz, leaves by I Am Roses, a pearled pin and laces by Maya Road. The title was cut with my Cricut.

You can see also metal embellishments from Istanbul and some pearl flourish by Want2Scrap. Take a good look at the embossed chipboard (above), I did highlighted the embossed pattern with a pink Copic marker.

Another close-up on the stamp work.

We just had a wonderful walk into the woods yesterday, gathering mushrooms with a beautiful and warm sun !
Stay put, I maybe will have snow fight pictures soon...

Bo Bunny chinese birthday card

Hello everyone !

I'm writing from my beloved mountain today ! In France, children have 2 weeks vacations every 8 weeks ! Crazy... Crazy weather too with 80F this week end, and snow coming for Wednesday !

Anyway, I want to show you a chinese birthday card I made a while ago, with the Bo Bunny's Serenity collection :

The flower are printed  and cut Sakura, and the branch is hand drawed.

I hope you have a great Indian summer too ! See you soon !

A layout for the CMS challenge #72

Another great color challenge today with Color-Me-Scrappy !

As the twist was to include some wood, I choose to have a wood background from the Miss Caroline collection by My Mind's Eye. In fact I use only items from this collection in my layout : paper, stickers, stamp (see the colored roses on the right corner of the pictures ?). I really love this collection, but my stash of it is shrinking...

I hope I gave you some inspiration to play in this new challenge. Don't hesitate to take a look at the DT's creations for some more and come play with us !

Feeling Sketchy card challenge #105

Enough with fall colors (at least for today) ! I want blue skies and pink flowers ! And I will gave you these colors in the new card I made for the Feeling Sketchy challenge #105 !

Take a look a the sketch, you can see some differences...

I flip the sketch, the arrowhead is now a ribbon end and I have 3 flowers instead of one and 2 circles. But you can see the sketch, can you ?

You maybe recognize the paper's collection I used : Miss Caroline by MME. The sentiment's stamp is from the same collection. Flowers by I Am roses.

October Once Upon A Sketch challenge

I'm very proud of the beauty I made for the Once Upon A... Sketch challenge this month !

Take a look at the sketch first :

and now my layout :

What can we find here ? Oh ! Surprise ! A K&Company paper (still Que Sera Sera collection)! But I did work on this one... Gesso, stamps (Prima Marketing and Inkidadinkado) with brown ink (Stazon), stencil (Want2Scrap), Shimmerz Texturez paint in Sandy Stone (look at the beautiful grain of the bricks), ocean ink spray (Mister Huey's), Lace (Hobby Lobby), a loosely braided twine (Recollections), I Am Roses flowers distressed with Colorbox ink and Prima Marketing chalk, and pink crystal sand !

Have some close-ups...

the loosely braided twine...

I'm still short on supplies since my moving hasn't left Aberdeen yet, so I did print the title and the journaling instead of looking in my stash for alphas and journaling spots.

See the layers ? Paper plus gesso plus stamp, plus stenciling, plus inking plus crystal sand !

Once upon a sketch have a bunch of sponsors with great prizes. I hope this layout can win one of them !

Have a good day !

Another Bella Blvd Fall card

I don't know for you but here, in the South of France, we have a wonderful Fall, with temperature around 80 today. Beautiful colors and sun. Perfect season. To stay into these colors, I have a card to show you, made with the Bella Blvd Totally Fall collection :

Small pumpkins, leaves and clouds are hand cut and mounted on foam squares to pop a little bit.

I hope I can soon scrapbook in my new room. My attic is now remodeled, it just miss one coat of paint and furnitures... I did take pictures of the whole process, I will show them when everything will be in place. Can't wait ! Scrapbooking on the kitchen table is a nightmare for me. I'm use to leave my work-in-progress on my desk (in fact several works) and scrap at different time of the day. Now it's just at night, after the kids are in bed. Less efficient...
Hopefully, I will have some time next week to hunt in Ikea for my perfect combination of furniture...

What will you like inside if you'll have the opportunity to furbish a new scraproom ?

Here is the tree :

That definitively has made my day, even if it still 8AM here...

Feeling Sketchy layout sketch #104

Hello !

Another sketch from Feeling Sketchy and another layout for my Turkish album !
Take a look at this new sketch :

And my own interpretation of it :

Dolmabache is the last palace of the last Turkish sultan. It's a huge palace, with beautiful gardens, an harem, and a lot of crystal chandeliers (the one in the balroom is the biggest in Europe). I only have exterior pictures of it, cameras are forbidden inside. This is the main entrance.

I used K&Company papers, Shimmerz textured paint, modeling paste, Prima Marketing stencil, Tim Holtz distress ink, Faber Castell pen, I Am Roses flowers and leaves, and metal embellishments I bought near the Grand Bazaar. I printed the title and fussy cut it.

Breast cancer awareness Month plus a pink layout

Hello everybody !

We are now in October, some of you maybe aware more than the others of the pink wave, the breast cancer awareness month. For those who don't know, you can click here to have some information about this disease and how detect it in its early stage.

So today I will be all pink in my layout. I made it for my next beginner class, with only two sheet of white paper, stamps (Prima Marketing, Inkadinkado) and pink inks (Tattered Angels, Colorbox, Studio Calico).

The title "heureuse" means happy for a girl. And if you could read french, you will learn that this happiness cames from a moment. I think happiness is made of these kind of moments, like the sum of tiny amounts of joy, laugh, beauty, love.. you can find everyday.

So be happy a million times today, and the day after, and the day after... and don't forget to talk about breast cancer and ways to detect it with all the women (and girls) around you.

Color-Me-Scrappy challenge #71

Hello !

This month the colorboard is mixed with a Stuck! sketch for the CMS challenge !

To create my layout, I used a S.E.I. paper with Want2Scrap brick stencil, modeling paste with Calico yellow spray and tattered Angels pink spray (didn't have orange one), K&Company papers, Maya Road banner chipboards and twine (re-colored with Inkadinkado coffee bean spray), I Am Roses flowers and Sticko alpha stickers.

Come take a look at all the great layouts our DT have created for this challenge and upload your creation at CMS to win a fantastic prize !

Scrap-Lifting layout for October

This month we had to scrap-lift a layout from Stephanie Bryan :

I did try to keep the white background, but it was too much to handle, so I ended with pink (surprise...) :

We have a mix of Recollections and MME papers and stickers here, with a hint of Tim Holtz distress ink.

Come take a look at all the great pages the DT made for the Scrap-Lifting blog, and if you play with us, you could win a prize...
