Enjoy the little things...

Hello fellows !

I was in a bad mood this morning, letting unwanted things crawl over my mind and ruining my energy. So, like everytime I'm pissed off, I grabbed a sponge to kill my dirty dishes, chase some dust all around the living room, and as I still have anger, drown laundry into hot water.
After all of that, I was feeling less annoyed by the so called negative things I was thinking about earlier, and started to look at the little things I was happy about. Like : I will have a card published in June, Spring is blooming in my garden, I made my youngest laugh this morning (not an easy thing these days), it's a sunny day... all kind of small random things that can light up a day !

All of this to say, enjoy the little things because it's what happiness is made of.
Here is a card for you to illustrate that :

I made it with the Happy day (Ah !) stack by DCWV (fussy cutting soothe me too...).

I wish you an happy day, full of small happy things...

Art journal page about friends

Hello crafters !

Valentine's day was not only about love but also about friendship, so it's time to show you an art journal page I made about friends !

I built the background with Bahama Blue and Fully Purple glimmer mists by Tattered Angels, scalloped stamp (Inkadinkado), diamonds stencil (Umwow studio) with Grape-tastic Dazzerlz paste (Shimmerz Paints) and some doddled butterflies (Faber-Castell black PITT pen) with Liquid Pearls (Ranger), and a hint of Peacock Feather distress ink (Ranger).
I fussy cut letters, texts, flowers and lines from a Tattered Tangled card and colored them with Copic markers before adding them to the journal.

I hope your day will as joyful as this page and don't forget to tell friends you love them !

See ya !

Prima Marketing February BAP layout

Hello !

I'm back and ready to catch up with my February projects...
First one, started in the mountains (but in need of a tiny thing from my stash home so finished today), a layout for the Prima BAP challenge...

I did a lot of work on the background, using stamps and stencil, distress ink and glimmer mists, and gesso..I had bits of Stationer's Desk papers that I used for the layering, and added more gesso and mists drops. I draw the circle with the inside tube of Barn Red glimmer mist and a black Faber-Castell PITT pen.

Here some close-ups :

Love this lace sticker ! Perfect fit for the layout.

If you look very closely, you can see the stamped gesso (bottom right).

You can see in the pictures above how I created the background. First, stencil, then mists, then gesso, layers of papers, and mists again.

Here is a list of what I used :

- Stationer's Desk papers (Prima Marketing)
- 6x6 crackle stencil (Prima Marketing)
- honey comb stamp (Prima Marketing)
- brick wall stamp (Prima Marketing) - I used this one on gesso under the layers of papers.
- gesso
- Walnut Stain distress ink (Ranger)
- Barn Red, Tattered Leather and Black Magic glimmer mists (Tattered Angels)
- black PITT pen (Faber-Castell)
- lace sticker (Prima Marketing)

Thanks for looking at my project ! I hope it gives you some inspiration to play with the Prima challenge too...

See you next week !

Stuck?! Sketches mid-month challenge

Hello !

I'm still writing from the French Alps where snow is falling today ! It's such a pleasure to see this beautiful landscape and enjoying the winter sports !

Even if we're still in Winter, my layout today is all about colorful papers, flowers and warm toughts :

I used the beautiful brand new Garden Charm stack by DCWV , with some white lace (Hobby Lobby) glued with Fabri-Tac. The flowers are matching perfectly my mom's top ! This picture was taken on the top of the village Baux de Provence, with a wonderful view all around the Alpilles (in France, of course).

Here is the sketch from Stuck?! Sketches :

We have two sponsors this month :

ScrapMuch with a $20 certificate on project kits
https://www.shopscrapmuch.ca/catalog/index.php

and Lindy's stamp gang with a $25 certificate !

You'll have until the end of February to play and upload your layout !
Have fun and see you soon...

Love you - My last DCWV Valentine's card

Hello !

I know that Valentine's day is tomorrow but I've already received my gift !
This is the last Valentine's card I will show you. It has been published in Creative Cards vol.1 this year (and that make me very proud of myself...).

The papers are from the Coral and Navy stack. I cut out the butterflies from the same stack. I found the lace at Hobby Lobby, and glue it with Fabri-Tac (Beacon Adhesives).

I wish you a great Valentine's day in advance, and I hope to see you as soon as Monday...

It's all about love - a DCWV card

Well, the title says all... It's a Valentine's card with non-traditional colors, like an every card, because love shouldn't be declare only one day per year...

I used papers from the Happy Day stack by DCWV, with a lot of fussy cutting, and a gold twine founded ages ago at Target.

See you tomorrow for a last Valentine's card.

Love you all !

Valentine's gift : an altered wine bag with Canvas Corp Brands

What sound more romantic than sharing a bottle of wine in front of a wood fire ?
So I decorate a wine bag to hold a two-glasses bottle for Valentine's day !

I found a kraft and chipboard bag in shape of a bottle and covered it with Red and White Mini Hearts paper (Canvas Corp Brands). The edges are distressed with Walnut Stain distress ink (Ranger). I added some journaling tags from Sending Love Words on ivory (CCB).
The bow is made with burlap fringe in ivory, sprayed with Barn Red glimmer mist (Tattered Angels). I adhere it with Fabri-Tac on the bag, as well as the flowers.
The flowers are velvet flowers by 7Gypsies with Barn Red and Tattered Leather glimmer mists. I made knots with jute cord as flower's center.

I hope it gaves you some inspiration for your own Valentine's gift.
see you tomorrow for another card...

You & Me : a DCWV Valentine's card

I didn't notice I have so many Valentine's card in my stash I didn't show you !
Here again one I made with the Coral and Navy stack by DCWV, but with a very different look than the one I show you two days ago...

I just add two corners made with a Sizzix die and a ribbon (Celebrate it) I got for years (you never know when you're gonna use what you bought...), that I did adhere with Fabri-Tac.

See you tomorrow for another project...

Vintage look Valentine's card

A completely different card today, with a more masculine look, using the Boutique Vintage stack by DCWV.
This one was published (happy dance) in the Creative Cards vol. 1.

DCWV Valentine's card : Love is simple

 Hello there !

Did you know that in France we have a lot of school vacations. In fact, it's 2 weeks every 8 weeks of school, beside 2 months of Summer vacations. I know, that's crazy.
Anyway, I'm in the moutains right now (maybe you already knew it if you're following me on Instagram or Twitter...), and even if I took my scrap tote with me, I've prepared some cards to show you during my stay.

The first one was created with the Coral and Navy stack by DCWV :

Nothing more than the papers : the tag, flowers, leaves and word were fussy cut...

You still have a whole week to prepare yourself for Valentine's day ! Will you make a card ?
See you tomorrow for another one...

Tim Holtz tag : February 2016

Yeah ! Another tag to lift !

If you haven't check Tim's blog yet, he will mix techniques from previous years to make a new tag each month ! So February is all about stenciling, Take a look a Tim's tag :

2016TAG

And here is my lift :

So, I die cut a tag with a Sizzix die in cream cardstock, and apply Spun Sugar distress ink all over it. I sprayed water over it and let it dry. Then as I choose to use Tim Holtz masks instead of a stencil and apply Walnut Stain over it. I used the same ink to distress the edges of the tag.
I followed Tim's instructions and apply medium gel over another stencil to create the words and the date with embossing tinsel in copper (by Ranger). My bonus : I create an eyelet around the tag's hole using an embossing pen and with powder.

As I didn't have an heart stencil, I created one with paper and heart punch. The red ink is Aged Mahogany distress ink.

You maybe recognized the French picture of Doisneau, highlighted with markers, and I found deep burried in my stash some Basic Grey stickers (RIP).
The metal heart is covered with embossing powder too. I added tissue tape (Tim Holtz) and lace (Recollections) to finish this tag.

I did enjoy making this tag, and the one from February too. I will definitely continue with this 12 tags of 2016 !

February layout for Stuck?! Sketches

Are you ready for the new Stuck?! Sketches challenge ?

We have two sponsors this month with both a $25 value prize :

Here is the sketch :

And the layout I made for the challenge, very C&S (well, I know it's unusual from me...)

What could you find in this layout ?
DCWV papers, Sizzix border die, mirror banners by DCWV, black an white pens by Faber-Castell, and a huge mistake in the journaling (Katy not Katty...).
I took this selfie of me and my daughter while waiting for the Katy Perry concert to begin... already 2 years ago ! Time went so fast...

Don't throw away extra pieces of paper when using a die. I use what was between the circles of the die to create the diamond circle in this layout...

Have fun using the sketch and have a great day !
