September Scrap Lifting challenge

This month we have a fabulous layout to lift on the Scrap Lifting blog, from a talented designer : Oia
Here is her layout :

It was a difficult one to lift, I couldn't decide if the doilies pattern was part of the paper or not. So I finally did consider that it was not, and once I did, the rest came easily. See for yourself :

The picture were taken in Haiga Sophia, the beautiful church in Istanbul. The last one was blurry, so it fit perfectly under the others. Gold and blue are the major color in this monument, so that was the choice of colors for my layout too.

I couldn't get the white doilies pattern pop up the page with white chalk, so I get over the pattern with white gel pen and did the outside lines with yellow glitter gel pen. Much better.

I outline also the title, it gives it a ancient look.

I did have my own lecture of the Feeling Sketchy sketch this month... Here is the sketch :

I decided to replace the two pieces of paper of this layout by stenciling :

It's another picture from my Turkish trip. We found a restaurant near Hagia Sophia, with a terrace and a great view of the place between Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque.

A new color board made for back-to-school from CMS blog !

As I'm still with a low amount of scrap materials, I used a little of it :

It's a layout about my daughter, age 3 on the picture. I used a Recollections lined paper (for the twist), yellow ink spray by Studio Calico, blue and green acrylic paint, a chevron mask by Studio Calico, heart rub-ons by K&Company, alpha stamps by the Paper Studio, and a fine pen by Copic .

C'est Magnifique Kit August challenge

Hello everyone !

I've been away from my blog lately for some good and not so good reasons : kids, family, road trip, and robbery (they break into my home...). I'm still pretty busy until the second week of September (remodeling work, gardening and school), but I did manage to create a layout for the C'est Magnifique Kit blog :

I can't wait for August to be finished... We are remodeing our attic to have a gameroom and a SCRAPROOM ! I was creating on the kitchen or on the floor since 2 months now, and am really sick of it. I will show you picture of this new room soon...

Color-Me-Scrappy challenge #68

Hello !

This new CMS challenge is all about summer ! The twist is to include something representing summer for you. Take a look at the color board :

For me, summer means France, because even if I am French, I didn't leave in my country for several years, and our family was going back every summer to our French home. But most of it, summer means mountains, the French Alps, where we go each time we could. So my summer layout will feature a picture of one of my daughter, running in the mountain meadow. 

Can you ear the music of "The little house in the prairie" ? That's what this picture make me think about.

What do we have in this layout ? 2 sheets of Recollections papers, Copics markers and Liquid Pearls. Text is print white over brown strip and cut in a shape of banners. I add a little bit of vintage distress ink on the back (Tim Holtz).

Of course, I had to cut every flowers and every leaves, colored them one by one, before re-arranging them on the dotted paper. Took me forever...
