A reason to smile Art Journal

Hello !

I have an art journal spread that I made for the Art Anthology blog to show you today ! The background is built with stamp, stencil and mixed media inks and paints, and I added few colored images stamped on paper tissue !

You can found in the background some Avocado Colorations spray, then a circle stamp (by 49 and Market) colored on few spot with Clover Colorations spray and then the the Scales stencils in size 8×12 and 6×9 with Limeaid Velvet medium.

This lovely girl is a stamp I bought recently (Squirrels and frogs brand), and the flowers came from the Pocket Full of Posies set (Bo Bunny). I stamped into tissue paper with Memento Tuxedo black in and colored the images with copic markers before adhering the cut images with  Glass Sorbet

These pages have a folk vibe with a mixed media twist ! Love the semi-transparent effect of the tissue paper !

If you want to know more about how I built my background or adhere the tissue paper images, take a look at my video tutorial :

Thanks for stopping by, see you soon for another project, and meanwhile, have a greatd ay !

Using large IOD stamp on a card

Hello !

I'm back with a card today, using products that are not supposed to be used on cards, but hey ! Whatever I want I create, right ?

So I started with a paper from the Rose Quartz pad (Prima) cut into a 5x7 rectangle, yellow ink (for a choice of yellow inks click here) and the new IOD 12x12 Mosaico stamp (Prima)... I so loved this design, I'm thinking about using it for a layout background, maybe do a video tutorial too... It's not meant to use in scrapbooking or cardmaking, but why not ?
After drying the ink, I rounded two corner and made the base of the card with a 10x7 black paper from the same pad, folded it in half and rounded the corner too.

I applied the "thank you" rub-on (Prima) and covered it with fine black glitter. I placed a cream ribbon distress with black distress ink on the top and start playing with flowers...

I used the IOD mould Fleur with Copic markers to create the cluster, and add some paper flowers from the Travel's Journal collection usually used for planner and some from a very old glass bottle in yellow (both Prima)

Well, it's an almost all Prima card I made there ! And a very peppy one ! I hope you like it...

See you in two days for a mixed media project... A clue (not very useful to guess what it is but I give it to you anyway...) : I used tissue paper !
Thank for stopping by today, hope to see you there Thursday...

Scrapbooking layout with Craft smith and Sketchabilities

Hi there !

Back today with a completely different project, one that I created as a sampler for my yesterday workshop. The purpose of this class was to learn how to use a designer paper pad to create layouts ! I choose the Ooh La La pad by Craft Smith because they contain, great background papers, journaling tags, and what I love the most, designs that I can cut out ! And cherry on the top, they are always on sale at Michaels (got mine for less than $6).

I used the sketch 100 from Sketchabilities blog to inspire me. This blog was on hold for few  years, but Karan Gerber decide to revive it in a very close future so don't hesitate to use the old sketches and wait for the new ones to come !

This paper pad was perfect for this picture, because it shows my daughter near the Seine, in Paris ! So when I saw the Eiffel tower, of course I had to cut it !

In fact there are so many pretty things to cut out in this pad , I had a blast ! The only things I added to the paper are Black Soot distress ink for the edges, Stitch stamps (Prima Marketing) with Memento black ink, brush strokes of Salmon colorations spray and drops of black Raider Colorations (Art Anthology)

So my advice if you have bought a paper pad and don't know what to do with it, choose a sketch and look for element from the sketch you could cut in your pad, and let the inspiration flow !

Thank you for stopping by, have fun with your papers, and see you soon for another project !

Altered tissue box with Art Anthology

Hello there !

I'm so glad to see you ! It's been a long time since I blogged ! My excuse is that I moved to a new house (yes, again...4 times in a year...) and haven't my stash available nor a place to create until few days ago !

But now I'm ready to create again, and I will start by showing you my project for the Art Anthology blog !

So in this new house, in what was gonna be my scraproom, I found an old wood tissue box. It was meant to be, I had to alter it ! So I covered it with laces all over, flowers, pearls, buttons and more on the top and covered everything with white gesso before using Art Anthology products to color it !

I used two types of medium there : inks (Colorations sprays in Siesta Key and Peacock Feathers) and paints (dimensional medium Sorbet in Cayman, Mermaid and Vegas Gold).

I made a video tutorial for you, so you can follow my creative process and maybe try to alter your own box !

Thank for your time reading this post and watching my video. Now that I have my space, you will see more of me very soon !
Have a great day !

Bloom - An Art Journal spread

Hello !

Art journaling is a fun way to visualize your thoughts, and today's spread is an example of that...
We all have experienced bad things in life, some more than others, but despite the uggliness of what life can throw at us, we are able to overcome it and succeed despite the rocks. My journal pages are about that, resilience... Bloom whatever your background is, because the past does not define you. It's a part of you but not the whole picture.

The background is built with a broken glass stamp and black ink, over layers of leftovers of ink and golden brown mica powder. Once dried, I paint it with Cayman Sorbet medium (Art Anthology).

The flowers cluster are created with the Pocket full of posies stamps set by BoBunny, some are directly stamped on the pages, some are stamped on white paper, painted and cut out. They are colored with Barbie and Patience Colorations sprays for the flowers, Timeless for the stems and Cayman Sorbet for the leaves.
The frames were stamped over the background and colored with Faber-Castell pens in Red-Yellow and Blue-Green.
BLOOM is stamped with an Uppercase Alphabet set, and the text with a tiny alphabet set.

I really enjoy Art Journaling, because it a great way to channel both creativity and thoughts. And I don't need to be twisted and dark, my thoughts can be happy and colorful as well in the same journal, as you can see in my other pages.

Thank for stopping by on this first day of the week, you really making my day by visiting my blog ! I hope to see you soon with another project...
