Mixed Media Place September challenge tag

Hello !

I didn't want to do my chores right away this morning, so I took some times to create a tag for the Mixed Media Place challenge using this moodboard :

I wanted something quick (because I cannot escape from chores for too long...), so I choose to create a tag, using a Ken Oliver bookmark, Black Magic glimmer mist and Coal baseboard (Tattered Angels) for the background.

I applied crackle paste in Platinum with a TCW stencil, place 3 small chipboard hearts and two stickers, doodle a little bit with black and white pens, et voila !

I just use the vibe and colors of the moodboard, and it was really quick to create (the longer was the crackle paste to dry...). I am very pleased with the result.

Thank you for stopping by on this Monday ! Hope to see you soon on this blog...

Cozy sweaters... a Fall card with DCWV

Another quick and easy card made with the Harvest House stack by DCWV...

I love how the different margins give dimension to this layered card. And the cute acorns cut from one sheet are a great accent with the gold trim.

I am already into apple pies and sauces beside my crafting projects. What is your favorite food for Fall ? Any favorite recipe ? Now that the temperature is cooling down a little, I can make stews again !

Thanks for stopping by today !

September More than Words challenge : Love Art Journal page

Hello !

I did some cooking recently, using September challenge from the More than Words blog :

I choose to create art journal pages with a non food recipe, a recipe for love, because it's our every day delight to be love and to give love :

I started the background with glimmer mists in Sunflower and Denim Blue (Tattered Angels) and Gelato in pink and gold (Faber-Castell). Then I applied purple and denim blue distress ink (Ranger) over round patterned stencils (TCW). I also trace the chicken wire with a stencil (TCW) and a pink pen (Faber-Castell).

Then I stamped the love blocks (Inkadinkado) and the hearts (Prima Marketing) in white paper, print the phrases and painted then with the same distress inks and a watercolor brush.
I stamped the bubbles (Deep Reed), the title, and the birds (Inkadinkado) directly on the pages. I added some white with a gel pen on the bubbles.

When the stamped white designs were dry, I glued them on the pages and added black gelato (Faber-Castell) around them, smearing it with finger and water.

Wish me good luck for this challenge, and see you soon for another project !

DCWV Fall card

Until last week, we were still in Summer temperatures, but they dropped on Wednesday and we now feel that Fall is coming... So is it time to play with my Fall collection !

I made this card with the Harvest House stack by DCWV and some Glue Dots...

I love the touch of light blue in this collection, and the lovely gold accents. I made another card with this stack last year, and will show later a different one.

You don't need a die to create the frame hollow in the blue paper. Just draw in the back using the sentiment frame you cut out from the paper and cut along the edge with a 1/4" margin.

Let's hope we will have a beautiful Fall season...
Thank you for stopping by on this Monday and see you soon for another projects !

DCWV hardcover mini album with string binding

The DIY project mini album stack by DCWV contain everything you need to create an ring binding scrapbook very quickly. But when I saw some of the pages, I immediately thought of making a smaller album because some of the sheet can be cut in half to decorate the mini. So instead of cutting them, I folded them ! And by doing that, I did think about string binding instead of ring binding, but this need a hardcover for the album... So... I made one with cardboard and masking tape !
The gold paper makes a beautiful reinforcement... To match it I use a gold string for binding.

The cute charms by Blue Moon Beads are the perfect accents for this album !

Let's take a look inside... On the first page, I adhere the tracing paper with the string to mask the glue.

I folded a transparency in half and bind it with with mint stripes paper. Love this combo !

Many beautiful pages and possibilities... I have papers, stickers and embellishments left from the stack to fill this album...

Another transparency folded :

I didn't show you all the pages but this album contains 14 pages to be filled ! And I only use one stack to create it beside the cardboard !
You can find this DCWV Project stack - mini album (as well as other projects) at Michaels. I did play with the mini envelope too (see my Instagram picture here).

Thank you for reading this post. I will try to do a video about string binding soon if you are interested...
See you soon !

Prima September BAP layout

I did my card very quickly for the CAT, but it took me a little longer to finish the layout... As I often say, life get in the way... Or other's life get in the way... like my kids' lifes, my husband's life, my dogs' lifes (mine and a rescue dog waiting for his adoption), my house's life (yes my house seems to be alive and have its own rules...), etc...

Whatever ! I did finish my layout for the Prima BAP challenge today and can now show it to you !

I used the 12x12 Vintage Emporium kit, wall and scriptures acrylic stamps, crackle stencil, golden crakle paste, and a doilie die by Prima Marketing.

As I didn't have the mini stones (Love these stones !), I used microbeads instead with gel medium, covered with gesso, Tattered Leather glimmer mist (Tattered Angels) and rose gold High Impact paint (Tattered Angels). I also used other mists for the background.

Once the crackle paste and the gel medium were dry, I applied ink (Tattered Leather) over it with a paint brush. It also makes the crackle more visible.

I hope you like it, and you will continue to stop by to see my projects !
Thank you for your time !

DCWV Luxe Lodge mini album

Today I will show you a mini album made with acrylic pages. Those are my favorite, because they force me to think of both sides of the pages when creating to avoid unwanted white back. It could be very challenging.
I used the Luxe Lodge stack by DCWV for this mini, it got warm colors and nice copper touches, perfect for Fall. The base is an acrylic ScrapWorks album in 3"x5".

Oh look ! Fussy cutting ! (lol)

It 's hard to see on the pictures, but placing a patterned paper under the acrylic page and then having embellishment over it gives a lot of dimension to the pages.

Best way to adhere paper on acrylic without the glue showing on the back is to use adhesive spray.

This collection has a lovely copper shine accent !

The Sizzix frame dies fit perfectly into these 3"x 5" pages.

Thank you for stopping by ! See you soon for my projects...

Prima CAT September challenge card

Now that Prima has 3 challenges per month, it gives me more opportunity to create projects... I usually don't do the PPP one, because I don't have the required products. But the BAP and the CAT are perfect for me !
I am in the process of creating a layout for the Prima September challenge, but my card is ready !

I used only Prima products except for the inks (brown by Stazon, and Walnut Stain distress ink by Ranger) : Stationer's desk 12x12 paper kit, flower, 3x4 Cartographer ATC, Coffee stains stamp.

Thank you for stopping by, and see you soon for the layout...

September Tim holtz mixed techniques Tag

This month's mixed techniques from Tim Holtz's blog was a real challenge because he used alcohol inks and yupo, and didn't have any of them... So I had to think hard to recreate these techniques with different products... First have a look at the project :

I think the effect is pretty close to the one create with yupo and alcohol inks, don't you think ?
So what did I use ? Dry erase paper (DCWV), alcohol marker (Copic) and stamp cleaner (Stazon) ! Isn't it incredible ? If you don't believe me, you can check my technique on my YouTube video.

White board paper by DCWV, stamps by Indigo Blu, Copic sketch marker BG18, and stamp cleaner by Stazon to create the blue paper.
Weathered Copper kit by Tattered Angels on cream cardstock (DCWV) cut with a tag die (Sizzix) for the tag.
I used grungeboard embellishments (Tim Holtz) with Crocheted Doilie mist and Wlanut stain ink (Tim Holtz), brown half pearls (Doddlebugs design), and metal flowers to decorate the tag.

The blue flowers are metal ones covered with white gesso and Caspian Sea glimmer glam (Tattered Angels).
The sentiment is cut in cream cardstock (DCWV) with Cricut and Graphically speaking cartridge, then spray with Crocheted Doilie glimmer mist (Tattered Angels).

Here is the video tutorial to create the alcohol ink (marker) resist technique :

Thank you for stopping by. I hope you enjoy this alternative technique to alcohol resist stamping.
See you soon for another project !
