Prima BAP December challenge layout

Hello !

I was so busy with my Christmas cards and with Christmas celebration, that I didn't have the time to finished my layout for the Prima Marketing challenge of December. I started it right after the challenge came out, and finished it only today...

I choose non-traditional Christmas color for this layout : black and copper !
I started by building the background on French Riviera paper (Prima)  : black sooth distress ink (Ranger), crackle stamp (Prima), copper crackle paint (Prima), gesso with texture powder (Prima) with honeycomb stamp (Prima), and black gesso.

I added white laces distressed with black ink, chicken wire with black gesso,, copper microbeads (Prima), black felt snowflakes (Prima), sequin embellishments (Prima), clay embellishments (IOD mold from Prima).

Almost forgot... I also use fabric painted with black gesso and copper paste as paint.

And that will be my last layout for 2016 !
Thank for for stopping by today. Have fun on New Year's Eve and see you next year !

Buttons Christmas wreath card

Holly jolly !

Only two cards left ! Can you believe I get through this challenge of mine again ! I surprise myself each year !
For today's card, I made a wreath out of buttons and bells !

Those lovely buttons as the wooden sticker and the ribbon are made by Recollections.
The little bells (Blue Moon Beads) were silver, but I wanted them match the buttons so I just colored them with Copic markers, and everything is hold in place with Glue Dots.
I choose papers from the All about Christmas stack by DCWV to create the square card base.

Tomorrow's card will surprise with the use of non-Christmas material, so I hope to see you for my last Christmas card !
Thank you for stopping by. Cheers !

I used the Winter DIY Party favor boxes stack by DCWV for the papers and die cuts, and the Tim Holtz Bigz vintage Noel die by Sizzix for the numbers.
This card is coordinate to another card I showed you few days ago and to the ones on the pages 62-63 of the December issue of Making Cards magazine.

Snowy village around the world - Christmas card

Hello crafters !

I made this card with the idea of what could be the Holidays season around the world. I came out with this simple circle design, like a snowy globe, surrounded with houses different in color and shapes...

Papers are from the All about Christmas stack by DCWV, a white pompom ribbon and 3D foam adhesives. I cut out the small houses one by one.

How does your Holidays season looks like for you ? Mine is snowy, in our cozy mountain place, soon surrounded by relatives and friends.  Where ever you are I wish you are with your loved ones.

Have a great day, hope to see you tomorrow...

A latte with Tim Holtz for Christmas ?

During my Black Friday shopping, I did order the Fresh brewed stamps by Tim Holtz, and as I received it few days ago, it was a perfect timing to use them on one of my Christmas card !
I cheated a little bit with the stamp, it supposed to be a sketch stamp, but I just wanted the cup so I masked the arrows with scribblings.

Papers are from the All about Christmas stack by DCWV, twine by Maya Road.
I stamped each cup on 3 different papers, and added small punches and twine.

I wish I could share a cup with Tim for Christmas, but I think I'll have to content myself with the stamps only... Never mind.

The Holidays are a time of sharing, so grab two cup of your favorite brew and share it with a friend, co-worker or a perfect stranger ! Or make cards and give them ! You have now 24 designs of Christmas to inspire you on my blog... And don't forget I will share with one of you some of the goodies I received as a DCWV DT member during this year by giving away an awesome prize to one of my follower who left comment(s) on my Christmas card(s) ! You'll have 30 chances in all to participate, one for each card before Christmas ! See the top left post for details...

Thank you for your time for reviewing today's card, see you tomorrow for another one !

Peace on earth - Christmas card n.23

Just a layered card for today, with one of the most wished gift for all as sentiment.
2016 was a crazy year, death, terrorism, natural disasters, hate, the list is too long. So yes, what I want for Christmas is peace on earth.

To create this 5"x7" card is used a Recollections pad and a big wired satin ribbon (the kind you use to make bow on gifts). Nothing fancy but the message is poverful by itself.

Thank you for stopping by today.
I wish you a peaceful Sunday, before heading to the whirlwindy week before Christmas, and see you tomorrow for another card...

Blue Christmas card

Frost blues and snowflakes are on my card today with a DCWV stack not meant to be for card but for boxes, the DIY Winter Party favor stack !

I loved the die cuts inside this stack so much I had to make a card with them... The snowflakes are glittery, the bow easy to make, and you can use the papers not only for boxes...

This card (and another I will show you next week) are coordinate to the gift card holders that were published in the December issue of Making cards (p62-63), one concertina (I've just discovered this word !) and one folded holder.

7 more cards to be shown on this blog before Christmas and my big giveaway... Be sure to comment on many of my 2016 cards' posts and follow my blog to enter it !

I hope I did surprise you with my designs so far, or at least inspired you to create cards. I wish you a great day and will wait for you tomorrow...

Shadowed Noel card

I saw long ago a card on Pinterest that I was sure to be able to recreate with stamps. So now what the right time to try it out !

I cut in white cardstock the word "Noel" with a Sizzix Alterations die, and secure it in the center a of red paper (All about Christmas, DCWV) with repositionable adhesive (try Zig two way glue pen).
I stamped all around it some snowflakes (Inkadinkado), and add tiny dots in between to make a shadow of the word. When done, I glued the red panel on a gray DCWV card (looks like black).

The effect is very similar than the one on the Pinterest card and the background can be any paper in any color ! Imagine the possibility ! And instead of snowflakes, use flowers, circles, clouds, numbers... any design to match the theme !

We are getting closer from Christmas day, when I will draw my winner of the huge DCWV prize... Be to enter the giveaway by commenting and following my blog. Some of you have already make sure they have an entry for each day, it's not too late to do the same !

See you tomorrow for another card.
Thank you for stopping by and have a great day !

Plaid and gold Christmas card

Here we are for a more traditional look... Red plaid, dark green and gold will be our colors today !

I took the papers from the Christmas Plaid stack and from the Mercury Glass stack (to mat the papers in gold) by DCWV, added some fussy cutting, a red doilie by Recollections and some green ribbon to achieve this classic (kinda Scottish for me don't you think ?) Christmas look !

Now you should have a Christmas carol song by a bearded tenor in your head and eggnog in your hand...

For a change of style, see you tomorrow for another card !
Have a great day...

Watercolor Christmas card

Hi there !

I wanted a more lighter card for once, without embellishment or mixed media on it, something quick to create and standing out by its simplicity. So I was reviewing my stash to be inspired by something, and remembered about the watercolor card DCWV sent me a while ago (see an example I made).

With the help of the poinsettia stencil I used in a previous card, I draw the flower with a red Faber-Castell pen and use the watercolor palette from the card kit to paint the poinsettia and some leaves. That way, the gold sentiment is popping out from the card.

I'm not much of a painter, but with the help of the stencil, it was pretty easy and the result is great !

I hope I gave you some inspiration for your own Christmas card today. If you want more idea, you have 19 other cards from previous posts to review and 10 more to come ! Don't forget to let a comment on the cards and follow my blog if you want to enter my Christmas giveaway (huge DCWV prize, see post on the top left) !

See you tomorrow for card n.21...

Merry and bright Christmas card

Hello everyone !

I had this die cuts set from Spellbinders since few years, and only did one card with it long ago (for the Oklahoma tornado). And I don't know why because it's a beautiful set ! I think I wasn't inspired until I look back at these Christmas papers (Recollections) and saw that the contrast between the light cream and the dark red was perfect for it.

I added Tea dye distress ink (Ranger) over the die before taking it off the paper to emphasize the design, and added it over the lace too.
The poinsettia is a stamp by La Compagnie des Elfes (French stamp company), with few leaves (I Am Roses) and cream pearls.

Is it more a vintage or a shabby look ? Anyway this card screams Christmas time !

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you already comment on my Christmas cards to enter my giveaway (and follow my blog too). If you didn't it's not too late : the more cards you comment, the more chances you have to win my DCWV Christmas prize !

See you tomorrow for another card !

Don't open until Christmas card

Hi there !

If you came here yesterday, you saw my non traditional color card with the free papers from the December edition of Making cards magazine... Now time for the second card I made with them, completely different !

I made the snow hills with teared white paper. I cut out the gift and the trees. The red journaling tag is several gifts cut out and glued on paper, then cut into a rectangle. I stamped the sentiment (Momenta) with white ink and embossed with white powder (Ranger).

Looks really cute, don't you think ?

Have a great Monday, wish you a fantastic week to come...

Non traditional Christmas card

Hello !

I have just received yesterday the December issue of Making Cards magazine, where you will find two of my projects on pages 62-63, and I found some very nice papers in this issue that inspired me for two cards. This is the first one, with non traditional colors :

It looks like I got a thing for black this year... The base is a DCWV dark gray card (looks like black), and I used their black cardstock to mat the small tags and ribbon (Recollections) too.
Tags and stripes plus pink papers came from the paper samples.
The snowflakes were cut with Winter Lace cartridge and my Cricut machine, and glue with Glue dots as the tags.

Tomorrow I will show you the second card I made with the paper samples of this magazine, completely different and very cute, but you'll have to come back to see it by yourself !

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you like my cards so far...

Merry Christmas card with cardinals

As I'm trying to give inspiration to different styles of crafters, today's style is very different from yesterday's card... This one is Clean and Simple, just trying to showcase the beauty of the papers.
I used the Merry Memories stack by DCWV, with a little lace and small punched snowflakes.

Love the glitter accent added to the cardinals ! It catches the eyes without overloading the design.

We are two weeks away from Christmas, I will have a busy shopping day before heading my scraproom again for another card... I hope you will have a fun day and you will find you way back to my blog tomorrow !

Thank you for taking some time to see the card of the day !

A shabby Christmas card for the Prima CAT challenge

I was waiting for this Card and Tag challenge from Prima blog ! In fact, I even started to work on my card before the challenge was up ! And you know what ? The sketch was almost exactly the one I had in mind ! So it was easy to finish this one...

I started by choosing papers from the Fairy Belle collection, distressing the edges with scissors and Black Sooth ink (Ranger).
I used a crackle stamp (Prima) with jet black ink (Stazon) on the gray paper.
I applied some pink chalk (Prima) on the last paper, then Platinum crackle paste (Prima) over a damsk stencil (Prima). When the paste was dried, I rub some silver gelato (faber-Castell) over the paste.
The metal embellishments were gessoed, then cover with Platinum crackle paste, and silver gelato too. I just add some pink chalk over it.
The resin frame (Prima) has gelato on it, it makes the design pop up.

Flowers are from different collection by Prima. I assembled the pink one from 4 hydrangeas. The gray poinsettia is cut out from one Fairy Belle paper and decorate with platinum paste over a crackle stencil (Prima Marketing).
Some lace distressed with black ink and pink chalk, Say-it-with-Pearl swirls (Prima) and my card was done !

I almost forgot the sentiment ! It's a stamp from the Julie Nutting Merry Nice stamp set.

So, this shabby project make my 15th Christmas card !Waoh ! We are half way ! You have 15 days left to comment on any of my Christmas 2016 cards to enter my giveaway. Don't forget to follow my blog to validate these entries !

Thank you for stopping by and reading my blog. See you tomorrow for another card !

Trimming the tree - Christmas card with Kaisercraft

How about a change of style ?  Today it's gonna be layering and Vintage !
As you can see, I still have this old 6x6 Christmas collection paper pad by Kaisercraft... I made 5 cards with it in 2013 ! But the papers are screaming in my closet to come out and be used for a card so I couldn't resist...

This card is made only with the rest of the pad (Could you believe I still have sheets left ?), except for the wood tree (Studio Calico) in the middle and distress ink in vintage photo (Ranger).
I will entry this card to the Kaisercraft Christmas card challenge, I think it's pretty accurate, don't you think ?

I'm working on a card for the Prima CAT challenge, I'm letting the paste dry (yes it means mixed media...) while typing this post... and of course it's gonna be a Christmas card ! But no traditional colors... You'll have to come back tomorrow to discover it !

Thank you for stopping by. Double thank you if you left a comment and follow my blog to enter the giveaway...
See you tomorrow !

Mixed media ornament with Art Anthology

Time for my post on the Art Anthology blog
If you are not done with decorating your tree, I have an idea for upcycling your old ornaments with paints...

You can spot the red one on the right, and here is a close-up of the white...

You will find more pictures of the ornaments and the complete tutorial on the Art Anthology post.
You can also find the video on my YouTube channel as well as other tutorials.

Have fun creating for your tree !
Thank you for stopping by and have a great day !

Joyous Noel - a Christmas card with DCWV

Hello !

Today I used the same stack than yesterday's card, the Gift Decor DIY stack and the Elegant Holidays stack by DCWV, but with a different shine. Yesterday was more rose gold or copperish, this one is pure gold ! The card base is an embossed gold cardstock (DCWV... I told you I received a lot of Christmas papers from them...).

I really love these acrylic snowflakes ! The snowflakes were tags I trimmed a bit to make them circle.
Very classy don't you think ?

Tomorrow you will see a more vintage card, but you'll have to wait for it. Meanwhile, you can review the cards I made so far and comment on them, and if you are a follower of my blog, by commenting you will have an entry for each commented by you in my Christmas giveaway ! See the top left post for details...

Have a nice day !

Golden snowflakes Holidays card

Hello !

Did you decorate your Christmas tree already ? We did it this week end, and this year it's a monochromatic one : gold !
That's inspired me for my card today this morning, a golden snowflakes Holidays card !

I found these acrylic snowflakes in the Gift Decor DIY stack , the gray paper in the Elegant Holidays stack, and the card base paper in the Boho Style stack (so not Christmas theme stack!). All these stacks are by DCWV.
I use the twine from a treat Megan from DCWV sent me last year, and a metal dove by PaperBliss painted with Copper by Martha Stewart.
To preserve the transparency, I used mini Glue Dots on the snowflakes.

Thanks for taking some time to see my card today.
Thanks to those who already left comments on my Christmas cards to enter my giveaway. Don't forget to follow my blog too if you want to validate your entry(ies) !

Have a great day and see you tomorrow !

Mixed media textured Christmas card

Hello crafters !

I hope you had a great week end, and you are more than ready for the December marathon... This is a such crazy month !
We gonna start the week with a mixed media card I'm super proud of, filled with textures and ideas :

I started with a white cardstock, sprayed with Warm Colorations spray (Art Anthology) and distress inks in Firebrick and Tea Dye (Ranger), added some gesso.
With paper left overs (BoBunny), I made strips, distressed the edges with same inks and adhered them in a vertical mosaic pattern. I added more gesso and imprint a honeycomb stamp (Prima Marketing) over it.
The card base is a green cardstock by DCWV.

I punched out a ton of small branches in two shades of green (DCWV cardstock) and display them in the center. I added splatters of gesso all over the card.
I found the perfect stickers in my stash, glass crackle square alphas by Sticko. I just added inks on the edges.
The "Christmas" word is cut with the Christmas/Noel Cricut cartridge in the same BoBunny paper.

I hope you like it as much as I do !
Thank you for stopping by on your busy Monday. Don't forget to follow and comment to enter my Christmas giveaway...

See you tomorrow !

Advent calendar with DCWV

Hello !

I couldn't show this calendar, because it was a surprise for my daughter, who asked for a calendar that didn't exist... So I made one for her filled with what she wanted : pokemons !

I made this calendar with the Christmas Plaid stack by DCWV and a black frame from the Insta Photo Fun collection :

Each pocket was cut with my Cricut machine (Tag, bag and boxes cartridges) as well as the number (Blackletter cartridge). The scalloped circle is an EK Success punch.

Each bag is hold by a small clothespin. As I only had gold one, I paint some in black, red and white with Martha Stewart paints. A ribbon is glued behind the back of the frame to hold the bags.

I know that this calendar is supposed to have only 24 bags, but why not have an extra gift on Christmas day ?

Did you made a calendar too or just buy one filled with chocolate (love those too...) ?

See you tomorrow for a Christmas card (!)...

Christmas Prima doll card

How about some coloring for today's card ?
I choose a Prima doll for this card, colored with my Copic markers, with Merry Memories papers by DCWV and some burlap cut with a Sizzix die.

To give more dimensions to the dress, I stamped it several time and cut parts before adhering them with 3D foam dots.
To add a little festive detail to the doll, I use white glitter paper for the hat, and a cute white lace for the belt.

We already day 9 of my 30 cards before Christmas event ! Did you comment on one card ? On several ? The more days you comment, the chances you will have to win the huge DCWV prize for Christmas ! And don't forget to follow my blog to validate your entry(ies)...

Thank you for stopping by, I hope to see you tomorrow too...

Black Noel and red poinsettia - A Christmas card

New month, new challenge on the DCWV blog. And for the last, it will not be the usual sketch but a moodboard ! I love moodboard !

The only thing I didn't use was the green colors. I have the patterned and textured papers (Christmas Plaid, black glitter paper), the theme (obviously Christmas), the gold (border and pearls)...

Do you think the red poinsettia in the center is a part of the design of the paper ? You are so wrong ! (no offense)
The paper is a journaling card I cut out from the stack, and the center was completely white ! What I did was cover the border (gold border in the center included) with paper hold by washi tape, place a poinsettia metal stencil (Dreamweavers) and applied clear embossing ink over it. I used then red tinsel embossing powder (Ranger) and heated it.

The final touches are the black glimmer die "Noel" (Sizzix/Holtz) and the black poinsettia, cut out from a stamp placed on the back (La Compagnie des Elfes) with 3 golden half pearls for center.

I will post later the Advent calendar I made with the same collection of papers. So see later, today or tomorrow for my next Christmas card !

December 16 Tim Holtz tag

Hello everyone !

I am simply delighted this morning because I saw my name on the November's winners list on the Tim Holtz's blog ! So right after my happy dance, I started working on the new tag...
As usual, I didn't have the requiered products so I find a way around to recreate this tag. Let's take a look first, and I will explain how I did it after :

I create the base with a tag die by Sizzix with natural burlap by DCWV, and applied firebrick distress ink over a TH stencil. I stitched all around the tag, and I can tell, burlap IS NOT easy to sew !

I didn't have the de-bossing folder, so I tried to deboss a word with a McGill paper blossom tool, then used an embossing pen and applied super fine black embossing powder (Ranger). I know it's not obvious, the title IS debossed...

I distressed the edges of the papers (Merry Memories stack by DCWV) with black ink (Ranger), and add metal and wood embellishments. The wood tree is colored with a black Copic marker. The phrase metal embellishment (Blue Moon Beads) is embossed with black powder.
A small snowflakes border on the green tag. Another small charm (Blue Moon Beads) on the red paper is distress with black Copic marker, as well as the jingle bells (Blue Moon Beads).

The green leaves are a small punch used with two papers (DCWV), splattered with gesso.
A black lace to finish the tag and I was done !

Thank you Tim for another of creativity and inspiration ! I was delighted to participate each month to these challenges ! I wonder what he's cooking for next year...

Don't worry, I'm still doing Christmas cards... I just wanted a different post for each project... And today is a busy day ! Beside this tag, you will have a post for a card AND one for my Advent calendar !

Stay tune and see you very soon...

Christmas Cardinal card

Green and red for a Christmas card is very traditional. But how about adding some burlap to the game ? Does it give a modern traditional look ?
Anyway, this is my card of the day, number 7 now, featuring DCWV papers from the Merry Memories stack and natural burlap stack.

Branches were fussy cut. I used the Fabri-Tac glue (Beacon Adhesives) to adhere everything on burlap.

If you love DCWV papers, don't forget you could win a bunch of their stacks if you comment on one or more of my Christmas cards and follow my blog ! See details there and take a look at the prize :

See you tomorrow for another card and have a great day !
