Precious : a baby layout

Hello everyone !

I bet your month is pretty busy, mine is too... even if it's not the end of school yet !
I have this cute layout to show for a while now, so it's time to present you my new baby layout (the layout is new, not the baby...). I have these beautiful pictures of my second daughters when she was few days old and never scrapped them until recently.
I used some of my favorites products in it, as stencil, lace, mists, flowers and microbeads :

And some close-ups :

Materials :
white cardstock (The Paper Company), pink cardstock (Recollections), white lace (Hobby Lobby), damask stencil (Prima Marketing), flowers and leaves (I Am Roses), Modeling paste (Liquitex), Party Pink and Black Magic glimmer mists (Tattered Angels), gold microbeads, gold marker (American Crafts), gold alphas (K&Company), gold ink (Colorbox).

See you soon, and congrats to all students !

C'est Magnifique May challenge layout

If you've been on this blog in the past, you have probably seen a lot of layout about my Istanbul's pictures... And, yes, you're gonna discover another one today...
I used this time the May C'est Magnifique Kit sketch to create this page :

and ended up with a very colorful layout :

The picture was taken inside Hagia Sophia, and as you can see the main colors are blues and yellow with floral theme, with magnificiant crystal chandeliers.

The choices of colors and embellishments were pretty easy.. Prima Marketing crystal flourishes and flowers (along with other brand flowers), beaded flowers by K&Company, and yellow clay embellishments I made with Wilton  mold (initially for fondant) and distressed with inks (Ranger).
The photo mat is made with Bella Blvd paper and a Spellbinders die, and the central element was created with a Prima Marketing mask. Title by Heidi Swapp.

Can you spot the tiny embellishment coming from an Istanbul bead store ? I bet no... It's the small metal white flower with a blue crystal center in the picture above. I like adding a souvenir inside my layout...

I'm very pleased with the result, this layout reflect the spirit of this beautiful church.

Wish you a wonderful Monday !

Prima BAP moodboard layout

I was stuck inside the home due to excavation work on my garden, so I created this page for the Prima BAP moodboard challenge :

I used what I learned from Finnabair during the Miramas workshop to play with ink and mica powder.
On a cream cardstock, I distressed the edges with inks (Peacok Feathers, Spice Marmelade,Vintage photo, Ranger) and used stencil (Prima Marketing) with Bahama Blue glimmer mist (Tattered Angels). I layered distressed Prima papers with washi tapes (Tim Holtz), laces and resist canvas pieces (Prima Marketing), and sprayed the page before adhering the matted picture mica powder mixed with water.
I had few metal embellishments left from the workshop (Mechanicals, Prima) I painted in yellow as well as flowers and ugly buttons (see, Finn, I did my homework...), and added die cut leaves (Prima Marketing) and a die cut doilie (Sizzix) distressed with ink for the finishing touches.
The string came out of the canvas I mist with yellow and Bahama Blue, so I used it too in the layout.

Here are few close-ups :

The center of the hot pink flower is home made. You can learned how to create them in this video. It's in French but I added english captions for you... For this particular one, I used a gold mesh with light green paper.
The embellishments were sprayed with mica too.

I wish you a great day and see you soon for more creative stuff...

Prima BAP layout for May

New Prima sketch ? Perfect, I was feeling creative with enough time to work on a layout... So I pulled up an old Prima paper pad (Second Wind collection), some Gesso with modeling paste, and Prima flowers, metal embellishments (Mechanical), wood items (Cartographer), stencil and stamp (Finnabair).

I also add some gold microbeads and used Vintage photo distress ink (Tim Holtz).

To get this "old bronze" look, I applied gesso on the embellishments, and once dry, I sprayed glimmer mists in Tattered Leather and Olive Vine (Tattered Angels) :

You can see here one of my favorite technique with modeling paste : stamping into it !

I hope you like it (and maybe Prima will love it too?). See you soon, maybe for the moodboard version of the BAP challenge...

Scrapping Clearly May moodboard challenge

This month we have the choice between a moodboard and a sketch for the Scrapping Clearly challenge :

I choose the moodboard, even if the circles of the sketch inspire me... On a white cardstock, I stamped circles (Inkadinkado) randomly with black Memento ink, before adhering teared washi sheet in yellow and teal (We R Memory Keepers) :

I just add some black sewing around the page and the pictures, a title (alphas by Making Memories) and hand journaling to finish this layout.

Don't hesitate to create a layout with the sketch or the moodboard, if you upload it on the Scrapping Clearly blog, you could win an Amazing Favourite Things Memory Files by Heidi Swapp :

Mike&Mike : a DCWV challenge for the DT

If you're an U.S. based scrapbooker, you maybe didn't watch the SuperBowl this year as Golic and Greenberg suggested ? This #Mike&Mike conversation gave DCWV an idea, creating layouts about these guys and sent them as a gift ! I gladly participate to this challenge, even if I wasn't in the U.S., just for the fun of it ! Here are the two layouts I made :

For this one I use a black sheet from the Chalkboard stack, a silver damask die cut paper and glitter paper by DCWV, red glitter paper from a Winter mat stack, a gardenia covered with red glitter paint (Plaid) plus few small black roses (I Am Roses), a leaves die and a flowers stencil by Prima Marketing, silver and red extreme glitter paints by Plaid.
A little close-up...

For the second layout, I used the Little Miss stack, and my Cricut for the stars. I was inspired for the choice of papers by the cute top of Mike's wife :

Come take a look at the DT's layouts about the two Mikes on the DCWV blog, they made an incredible job in a very short notice !

DCWV May card sketch

Hi !

As promised, here is my card for the DCWV May card sketch :

I almost exclusively used the Little Miss stack by DCWV for this card, except from the Scor-Tape to adhere the papers and the ribbon I bought long ago at... Costco (love this store, I missed it so much...).

You can compare my card to the sketch, I flip it and I switch stamps for hot balloons. This card could work for a boy or a girl.

Now go to your craft table and play with this sketch too !

DCWV May layout sketch

Hello !
Last year I made a trip to Istanbul to see good friends, and I made like more than 100 pictures during my stay... So, yes, I'm still scrapping them !
For this layout, I had some help for the sketch, I take it from the DCWV May challenge. Here is the sketch :

For my layout I used papers from the Luxury stack in 12x12 and 6x6, Premium papers pack in teal (the damask pattern and the dot vellum), gold extreme glitter paint by Plaid on the background, photo mat and title, some border and corner punches (Fiskars), and my last of Scor-Tape to adhere the papers.

I should have used 3 pictures on tis layout, but instead I cut one in 3 pieces... this will not help me to finish my pile of Turkish pictures...

Have fun playing with the sketches, I will show you tomorrow the card's sketch...

Feeling Sketchy May challenge

Hello everybody !

Spring give us a beautiful weather, and with warmer days will come the wedding season...
So for the new sketch of Feeling Sketchy, I choose a wedding theme, with a great stamp from Polkadoodles who's our sponsor this month :

I used papers from the Luxury stack by DCWV, ribbons found at Hobby Lobby, a acrylic sentiment by Cloud9, my Copic markers and flowers by I Am roses.
I did follow (more or less) this sketch :

You can upload your project on the Feeling Sketchy blog until the end of the month and win a prize from Polkadoodles, so go on !
