Art journal : white roses tainted with blood

No happy craft today. Once again horror strikes in my country yesterday. Another barbarian act. Less than two weeks after the Nice attack, where families, kids, pregnant womens, old, young, catholics, muslims, lost their lives in an horrible way, terrorism killed.
An unbelievable act, condemn by all communities. A men of peace died, butchered.

I usually don't watch TV since the 11/9 to not be overwhelmed by horrific news like I was on this day. But everyday news catch me by social media now. And everyday I'm in tears. I had to create something to express my feelings.
So please be clement, I am no poetess, but I had to put words on my creation.

These white roses didn't have thorns
Even if they were not sinless born.
No God has asked for their crop,
But someone queried for their drop.
Now all we can do is let the tears flood
For the white roses tainted with blood.

The materials used are pretty simple : Silver Sugar and Santa Baby Glimmer mists by Tattered Angels, roses stencil by TCW, gesso and gray Souffle pen by Sakura.

Thank you for stopping by.
Take care.

More than Words July mini challenge card

This was just what I needed... a mini challenge with a quick project ! More than Words challenge have a mini challenge every last week of each month, where you have to make a card, a tag or an ATC, and this time you have to use the word "FUN". The project has to be upload on their Facebook page.
I had the perfect paper collection for that : the DCWV Birthday stack ! So I made a birthday/party theme card :

The arrow came from the pre-cut shapes Press Petals cardstock stack. I fussy cut the border, cupcakes and confettis, and create the letter. I glued everything with Mixed Media Glue (Beacon Adhesives).

See you soon for another project.
I wish you a very fun Monday !

Coloring DCWV papers with Chameleon pens

Hello and happy Sunday !

Two weeks ago I received a DT box from DCWV (see the video here) with a bunch of products, and I promised you to show you how the Chameleon pens works...
So, even if I'm in vacations (or because I am in vacations), I made a video using Color & Create papers (Butterflies and birds) and the blue and purple tones pens :

No big tutorial there, just a quick start on how to create a beautiful shading in no time with the Chameleon pens. And at the end, you will have a clue on one of my next project...

I wish you a great day, and see you around for more projects !

Upcycled nail clipper set box with Beacon Adhesives and DCWV

During 3 days (including today), Beacon Adhesives was live with a bunch of streaming and videos, sharing projects, tips and products from its brand but also from other companies like DCWV. You can still catch some of the streaming on their Facebook page.

It's a little bit complicated to contribute to a live streaming as I am in France, but I did a project and a video about it to participate...
I had an old yellow nail clipper set that I decided to upcycled with DCWV papers, glue by Beacon Adhesives and flowers. Here is the result :

The papers are from the Coral Couture stack and the flowers from I Am Roses.

You can watch the complete video on YouTube :

Beacon Adhesives will be live again today so don't forget to stop by their Facebook page to watch projects from the team !

See you soon !

July More Than Words challenge layout

This month, the More than Words challenge is about creating a layout with a word (smile) and a sketch :

The subject of this layout was obvious, a picture of one of my daughters smiling ! And I found very quickly the journaling, because seeing my child smiling always make me happy...

The papers are from the new stack Copper Blues by DCWV. I added blue distress ink (Ranger) over a coffee stains stencil (TCW), script with a blue marker (Faber-Castell) and Art is... stencil (TCW), plus sapphire glimmer mist (Tattered Angels).
I used another stencil (TCW) to create the leaves in the background with a metallic copper paint (Martha Stewart), outlined with the blue marker (Faber-castell).
Tittle cut with Cricut (Wild cart cartridge). And of course the fussy cut flowers !

Love this quote ! Making someone happy everyday brings you happiness too...

Keeps that in mind and have a wonderful day !

DCWV Boho style card

In the package I received in June from DCWV, I found a beautiful stack called : Boho style stack !

I love the design, the foil accents and the colors of this stack ! My eyes were catched by the white flower and the golden feathers. What a treat for my fussing cutting love ! I used these design for a card :

The sentiment was cut with a Sizzix die cut, and and glue everything with the Mixed Media Glue by Beacon Adhesives.

It is not easy to create with two teenagers at home for summer (I am now a taxi driver, a cook, a maid, 24/7... more than during school time !), but the goodies I received from DCWV are calling me !
So stay tune for more projects !

Have a great day !

July 2016 Tim Holtz tag

I have become quite an addict of these Tim Holtz tags... This July one came quickly to my mind and I had to create it right away !

I use the watercolor technique with the distress ink pad fade jean, firebrick, frayed burlap and broken china. The stamp is a TH one, as well as the metal wings.
Words have been cut with my Cricut machine and the cartridge Graphically Speaking, into DCWV papers (Little Miss, black cardstock), and the tag was cut with a Sizzix die.
Metal embellishments have been covered with Copper Metallic paint by Martha Stewart, and all has been glue with Mixed Media Glue by Beacon Adhesives. Twines by Maya Road.

Wish you all a great week end !

DCWV July sketch layout

July means vacations, friends, sun, beach to me. What does it means to you ?
To grab this July feelings, I created a layout with the new DCWV sketch (not on the blog yet but you can view the challenge on their Facebook page), the Coastal stack and real sand !

Those pictures were taken on a Galveston, Tx beach, where we rent a small cottage during vacations. It couldn't be better : we just have to get down the stairs and walk in the sand few steps to enjoy the coast !

I use the Mixed Media glue by Beacon Adhesives to adhere the sand, and just add Tea Dye distress ink to the edges of the layout.

You can use the above sketch to create your own project and send it to DCWV until the end of July to enter the giveaway...

For the American viewers, I wish you a great 4th of July week-end ! And for all the others, have fun too !

See you soon...
