Friday at CHA 2016 - Part two

Hello everyone !

What did I forget to show you from Friday ? The Idea-ology booth loaded with Tim Holtz products !

I went to a conference called Hot Product Sneak Peek. Nothing amazing for me, but interesting anyway. Few products kept my attention.

One is like a swiss knife, the one with several rectratable blades that you can keep in your pocket, but instead of blades you got crochet hooks. Good idea but difficult for me to handle like a pen (that's the way I hold a hook), because it's too large.

Another one I liked very much was a craft and hobby knife by PenBlade. It's a rectratable cutter, very sharp and easy to use. I tried them on balsa and jeans fabric and I think they are perfect for fussy cutting (you know my love for that...) even on usually difficult materials. The two lovely ladies at the booth were kind enough to give me a 10 knife I can't wait to use at home (3 sizes 10, 11, 15) !

The other one is not real new, but I know someone who will be interested in it. Tattered Laces introduced a mini food-proof die cut machine working with their dies. The demo was about decorating cupcakes with rice paper die cuts, but I can think at other edible products to work with that...

I kept the more interesting one for the end... The MINT !

It's a custom stamp maker, working with the Silhouette software, but has also his own software. It use thermal printing for 3D design and allow you to add multiple colors to your stamp without refilling it for 50 stamping or so. I think the retail price will be above the hundred...

After this, the CHA Mega Block Party was held outside between my hotel and the convention center. I went for like 20mn and get back to my bed after that (jet lag, remember...). But I was able to grab a Michaels bag with some goodies inside : a sample pad of colored pencil paper, a cute notebook and 3 small canvas panels.
Here is a view of the party, you can see food trucks on each sides, plus a high heel painter sketching the party.

I will now start a new day at CHA. It's Saturday, 6AM. I'm up since one hour, and will head CHA right after breakfast. I will probably give you an update after my help at the Canvas Corp Brands Make-and-Take from noon to 1PM...

See ya !

Friday at CHA 2016

You know already that I was going to CHA floor at 8AM (early wake up due to jet lag...), but what did I do then ?
Well, I saw Rita Barakat with her new boots going to a workshop/conference, I registered for another conference on Monday, and went to the DCWV booth to help the team prepare the booth ! The day went fast with so much work to be done (remember yesterday's pictures ?)

Here is a wall I set up :

I helped on these too...

As you can see, everyone participate !
I had a great day working with the lovely DCWV team !

After all this work, I did walk a little bit around, with a first stop to the Canvas Corp Brands booth where I will help for the make-and-take tomorrow at noon (I will be glad to see you there, so don't hesitate to stop by and say Hi !).
This is what the CCB booth look like :

I walked around a little bit more and saw that awesome car by crystalninja.com :

then the Prima Marketing booth :

and Heidi Swapp :

The CHA party will be on at 7PM, so I will give you updates later...

My first day at CHA 2016

Good morning everyone !

I arrived yesterday afternoon at Anaheim,CA, after a long trip from Marseille, France, and registred immediatly after check in at the hotel. I am very excited by this journey !

So here is what I will do these next day on my blog... I will update you with stolen pictures and thoughts about CHA !

Let's start with yesterday.
I am lucky enough to stay at the Hilton and it's perfectly located for CHA, as it's accross the plaza ! So right after letting my luggages in my room, I went to the CHA registration to get my badge :

Just so you know my name is Valerie Andrieux Andrieux... Why on earth did they double my last name ? Never mind...

All attendees will receive a complimentary bag, with advertisements and a directory with a map (very useful, because the floor is huge !).

If you don't know it yet, there is an apps CHA show) to have all the infos on CHA on your phone, with map, workshop and conference schedule, pictures... You can even see if your friends are coming !

As I have a green badge (Thanks to DCWV !), I was able to walk the floor and take a look before the opening :

As you can see, most of them are not ready ! But don't worry, they have a whole day to finish their booths, and all of them are gonna be awesome !

It's now 8AM, time to take a tour !
See you tomorrow for another update on my first CHA...

Stuck?! Sketches January layout

Happy New Year to all !

December was crazy busy, and January will be too, but I still have a few days left before I start my new year with a big event I wanted to go for years : CHA !
So you will not see a lot of my projects before mid-January, except some pictures or videos (don't  know yet how to proceed) of what I will find there, and my first layout of 2016 for Stuck?! Sketches...

Here is the new sketch :

Lots of possibilities in this... Pattern papers and flowers will always be my favorite...

We have two sponsors for this challenge :

And here is my layout, made with the Boutique Vintage stack by DCWV, a honeycomb stencil by The Crafter's Workshop with Walnut stain distress ink (Ranger), and few tag dies by Sizzix.

These Summer pictures were taken few years ago in Avignon. I love them because they show the sweet love and sisterhood between my daughters (not seen very often during these teenagers' days...).

You will have until the 15th of January to post your layout on the Stuck?! Sketches blog for a chance to win a prize !

I wish you the best for this new year, fille with love, health and joy !
