DCWV baby mini album new release !

Hi everyone !

Did you know that DCWV had a bunch of new releases these days ? I was lucky enough to get my hands on a cute mini I used to create an album for for pictures of my daughter when she was a baby.
This mini is very versatile, with 19 pages, 26 cut outs, washi tapes and embellishments, and 4 additional pocket pages. I made some modifications to the original arrangement of pages, and use some of them to create mat for photos and new embellishments.

Here is my cover :

I add Prima Marketing flowers, brads and ribbons to personalize this cover.
On the first page, I add a shape cut out of another page for the title, and used paper from another one to mat the picture.

On the next picture, you can see one of the pocket page, where you can keep memorabilia. Picture is matted with paper from another page.

I didn't have much time to take pictures of this cute album before leaving for my snow vacation, but I will show you later more of it when I get back...

Don't forget to take a look at all the great new items DCWV is presenting these days !
See you soon...

Scrapping Clearly mini album

Hello everyone  !

I'm here to show you what you can do with the beautiful albums made by Scrapping Clearly !
I did work with the circle album and the Urban Market paper pack by Teresa Collins and ended up with this project :

This album has 4 pages, and you will find a lot of stickers and designs that you can cut inside the pack in addition to the beautiful 12x12 papers. Beside ribbons from my personal stash, I use a clear stamp with silver opaque Stazon to create the border on the edge of the first page.

Double-side papers work great with clear album, and you can play by layering them on both side !

You know me, I love fussy cutting, and that what I did with the blue flowers.

And the last page, where I used a Lucky8 doily punch by We R Memory Keepers. I adhered the black paper on the other side of the clear page to add dimension to the white lace.

I hope I did give you some ideas to make your own album. Have fun !

Mardi Gras mask

Today it's Mardi Gras !
Do you know where this tradition come from ? It's the last of the fat day before Lent. In France, we celebrate it mostly now with a costumed parade ending by burning the Carnival king. In Venise, they have a very fancy parade with gorgeous costume and beautiful mask.

So today I will present you a mask created in the Venice's spirit :

I started by covering a chipboard mask (Decopatch) with white gesso and aqua tissue paper, adding some aqua glitter glue and Liquid Pearls. Lots of flowers (mostly Prima Marketing), covered with gold and turquoise paints (Plaid) and glitter glues.

The metal embellisments are covered in gold with a gold pen.

Will you wear it ? I like it so much, I can't image my daughters wearing it for Carnival !

Happy Mardi Gras (for all of you feasting today) !

At least I can reveal...

I made my way to the Canvas Corp Brands Design Team ! Isn't it incredible ? But you maybe have already guessed, seeing me creating a little more with Tattered Angels, 7Gypsies or Canvas Corp products... Anyway, even if you had guess, you didn't see my brand new blinkie on the right side bar...

I still can't believe I'm on this incredible crew, so many talented crafters there ! I do the happy dance everytime I'm thinking of it...

CCB has asked every crew member to create a project with a 4x4 canvas, reflecting their personality and sensibility. You can find these projects here, and you will find mine at spot #42. You will also be able to vote for your favorite. I hope you will vote for me ;-)

Here is a bigger picture of my project :

It was so not the project I had in mind at first ! I had a pretty and clean idea, but then I thought "that's not what I want to represent me" and ended up with a messy, colorful canvas with flower... Yep, that's me.
Take a closer look ...

Here is what I used :
- 4x4 canvas by CCB
- paper from Postale collection by 7Gypsies
- Tattered Leather glimmer mist by Tattered Angels
- Barn Red glimmer mist by Tattered Angels
- Bahama Blue glimmer mist by Tattered Angels
- Caspian Sea glimmer glam by Tattered Angels
- modeling paste by Liquitex
- fondant mold by Wilton (the leaves)
- White air dry clay by Martha Stewart
- white gardenia by I Am Roses
- journaling stickers

Don't forget to stop by the Creative Studio to take a look at all the beautiful Valentine's card made by the Creative Crew (can you spot mine ?) and be inspire to create one yourself ! You could win a $50 gift card into the CCB store by pinning your favorite cards !

Prima February BAP challenge

Hello everywhere !

I did play with the new sketch from Prima Marketing and I had a lot of fun ! It wasn't an easy one to read, I had to transform these stroke into something different to please me. Take a look at the sketch :

February-sketch-2

and what I did with it :

I started my background with a paper from the Second Wind collection by Prima Marketing, their damask stencil and gel medium. Once the gel was dry, I spray Tattered Leather glimmer mist by Tattered Angels over the pattern and heat dry it. I cut the outside frame in a paper from the same collection and distress it with scissors and Vintage photo ink by Tim Holtz.

The title and the snowflakes were cut with my Cricut Expression (Winter Lace and Christmas/Noel), and the journaling written with 3 different pens (gold, coral and white).

I just add some pearls in the middle of the snowflakes to give them more dimensions.

And look closer... No flowers ! Yes, it can happen...

I wish a wonderful day, and see you soon !

Surprise Valentine card

Valentine's day is not far from now. Did you made something crafty for a loved one ?
Canvas Corps Brand has challenged us to create a Valentine's card and to send it to someone who is not expecting it... So here is the card I created :

The base is a Canvas Corps blank white card. I started by mixing red high impact paint from the Jolly calendar kit by Tattered Angels with modeling paste and spread it onto the card. I teared up a polka dot paper (Santa's journey) by 7 Gypsies and place the pieces on the red paste. No need to glue, it adhere by itself at the modeling paste. Then I sprayed Black Magic glimmer mist on few spots.
After that, I mixed white high impact paint from the Christmas kit with modeling paste and put some at the edges of the card and few strokes in the left bottom corner. Before it was dry, I push a honeycomb stamp by Prima Marketing into the paste to make texture. Then I glued gold microbeads randomly.
I sprayed Barn red glimmer mist on  two flowers (I Am Roses) and Black Magic on one rose and the leaves. I added some leftover of the white mix to the roses. They look like frosty like that...
The hardest part was to glue the black cord in the shape of the word "love".

My surprise Valentine's will be an French author, who's writing beautiful and unreasonable love story. That will be my way to give back for the pleasure I took at reading his books.

Do you have a surprise Valentine's or a regular one ? Maybe several of each ?
See you very soon for more projects to come...
