DCWV prize goes to charity !

Hello crafters !

Do you remember last month when DCWV organize swag bag hunts ? I did participate in one in the South of France... Just as a reminder of what DCWV and other partners offered :

It was a huge prize but nobody came to claim it ! So I ask if the prize could be use for charity, and DCWV totally agreed with this idea ! What a great company !

Yesterday I went North (no, not North of France, North of Avignon !) to meet the lovely Najoua, co-manager of the ASH Pasteur association in Le Pontet, to give her this fantastic prize.
ASH Pasteur in a small association with a very tight budget, working with children to explore arts and crafts.

I have no doubt this prize will be put in good use during the summer... Except for the snickers bar... My kids could not resist and ate it. Sorry...

Thanks again DCWV for making this happen !

See you soon...

More than words June challenge layout

Better late than never... I finally finished this layout I started 2 weeks ago, but life gets in the middle of my creative process...
this month at More than words challenge, you have to use the word "imagine" and get messy. So here is my messy layout :

I use papers, stencil, gold crackle paste and stamp by Prima Marketing, baseboard paint and glimmer mists by Tattered Angels (Sunburst, ivory, bittersweet and Tattered Leather), walnut stain distress ink (Ranger), chipboard (UmWowStudio) and some threads. Here is a close-up :

oh and the stickers are by Sticko.

I took the picture inside the water reservoir of Istanbul, it looks like a dark flooded palace...

I hope you like. Thanks for looking and see you soon !

DCWV DT package haul

Hello !

How was your week end ? Beside a nice BBQ on Saturday, I spent my week end as a couch potato as I was sick (bad reaction to anti-inflammatory meds). But now I'm up and I can work on my computer to show what I've received from DCWV as a team member (in case you didn't notice, I have a blinkie on the left column...) !

I made a short video where I unboxed my goodies, so take a look to see what I will use in my future projects...

Thanks for stopping by. I wish you a wonderful week...

A Copper layout for the Mixed Media Place challenge

The Mixed Media Place has a beautiful moodboard this month and it inspired me to create a layout :

The shiny copper and glittery turquoise catch my eyes and I can say that my layout SHINE !

I used papers from the Classy Copper stack by DCWV, plus two blue pieces from my stash, a TCW stencil with a texture paste, gesso, gel medium, glitters and thread. Take a closer look :

I made a video tutorial for it. And it was not an easy one : battery went out, memory card went full, computer crashed the video project, YouTube stop uploading at 40% during 6 hours... But I made it !

Thanks for stopping by today, and double thanks if you watched the video !

See you soon !

Prima June BAP challenge

Summer is coming...Sea is calling !
Combine with the sketch challenge of Prima Marketing this month, it gives you an ocean layout !

Here is what I used to create this layout :

- papers from the French Riviera collection kit (Prima Marketing)
- metal embellishments (PM, plus few others like buttons or jewelry attachments)
- shell in frame rub-on (PM)
- plum beads (PM)
- laces (PM)
- flowers (PM)
- rust embossing powder (Ranger)
- Walnut stain distress ink (Ranger)
- Coffee shop, Crushed Shell, Tattered Leather and marmalade glimmer mists (Tattered Angels)
- Fabri-Tac (Beacon Adhesives), Glossy Accent (Ranger)
- gesso

I covered some of the embellishments with gesso, then spray with Crushed shell mist and applied immediately the rust embossing powder. Once heat dried, it looks like this piece slept under water...

The laces were cut and distressed, then spray with Coffee shop and marmalade . I think it looks like coral...

Don't you think the beads looks like fish eggs ?

As you can see, I applied white gesso all over the page, and spray a little bit of Tattered leather on it before rubbing the shell and frame design, embossed with rust powder.

I hope you like the result. This sketch was very inspiring !

Have a great day !

Getting to know...me : an interview by Amy Kunkle !

How incredible is that ? Amy Kunkle, who's podcasting these days about craft designers coming from different background, find me on the internet, and decided to interview me ! How lucky am I ?

You could listen to the podcast on her blog, and you will also find interviews from a bunch of creative ladies.

You will learn few things about me, about the difficulty to stand up as designer with no artistic background, and listen to my incredible French accent all along ! (please don't laugh... Ok laugh...)
You will also find tutorials and a lot of resources on her blog so don't hesitate to look around !

Please get back to me and tell me what you think about this interview, I would love to have your feedback on that !

Have a great day !

Bird and butterflies card with DCWV

Hello !

I have a new card to share with you today ! This one was made with the Birds and Butterflies stack by DCWV, and a cute sticker by Recollections.

I do love this stack, and you maybe already saw why... Bright colors and cute design to cut out ! So yes, I did cut out the bird, the flowers and the butterflies...
My advise to make the round paper fan ? Score the paper on the print side, and it will not teared up.

I find the double mat very elegant, I like to use this technique on my square cards. I adhere the mats with Scor-Tape, and the small designs with Glue Dots.

This card looks like summer, don't you think ?

See you soon for more projects...

DCWV June sketch challenge card

Hello !

I made a layout some times ago for the DCWV challenge, and for this month I wanted to use the same idea. So I grab my scissors and cut out the license plates from a sheet of the Treasures stack one by one !

This masculine card could be perfect for Father's day ! and you still have time to create one yourself !
You can use this sketch and enter the DCWV challenge :

Have fun today and see you soon...

DCWV June sketch challenge layout

Have you seen this month's sketch on the DCWV blog

Once again I change the circle design into flowers ! What a surprise...

I cut out flowers and leaves from one of the Paint and Create large stack, paint them with watercolors from the Paint & Create stack, as well as the withe background and photo mat (Embossed white stack, DCWV).

Title made with golden stickers and pink pen by Faber-Castell.

You will have until this end of June to create a layout based on the sketch and send it to the lovely Megan from DCWV. There always something nice to win with this challenge...

See you soon for details on the card I've created, but you can already see it on the DCWV blog !

June Tim Holtz tag

Already June ! We still have 3 weeks of school here in France, and after that I will be free of school chores !
June means news challenges everywhere, but let's start with the one on the Tim Holtz's blog, because his technique are super easy to replicate and the result is always quick and fun ! Take a look at this month's tag :

2016TAG

The tage I created has a different feeling, not so masculine, but not feminine either.

Mine was made with what I've got in my stash, so I ended up using a denim sheet DCWV (Premium denim stack), gesso, stamp by , stencils by UmWowStudio and Tim Holtz, gesso, Texturez silver paste by Shimmerz paints, and a Faber-Castell red pen. And that only for the background...

For the top of the tag, I use basic cardstock and tissue sheet by DCWV, a stamp with Stazon brown ink, feather dies by X-cut, a Faber-Castell blue pen, a white gel pen, Sapphire and Santa Baby glimmer mist by Tattered Angels, Cosmo Cricket journaling phrase, 3 small reed buttons and my sewing machine.

Do you see the shiny flakes on the tissue's wrinkles ? I use the Sparkle Mod Podge to coat the tissue paper !

Another fun tag to my collection !

Thank you for stopping by today, I hope you like what you saw...
