More than words October challenge mixed media layout

October challenge at More than Words blog is about ombre et change...

Butterflies came right out my mind for this challenge, for the change of caterpillar into butterfly, for the butterfly effect, for the change of colors in their wings... And I use a lot of them on my layout!

The background was built from a DCWV paper from the Boho style stack, using purple distress ink (Ranger), gesso and microbeads, Iris baseboard paint and Mardi Gras glimmer mist (Tattered Angels), crackle and scriptures stamps (Prima Marketing) to give dimension to it.
The butterflies were stamped (Indigo Blu) with Stazon jet black then colored with purple distress ink.
The title is a color resist word (Heidi Swapp) sprayed with Iris paint.

Isn't fussy cutting fun ? As fun as playing with mixed media supplies !

Thank you for taking some times to look at my layout. See you tomorrow for another mixed media project !

Cute & Clever - a Gorjuss and DCWV card

Good Monday !

I have a card to share with you today, using the Watercolor stack and black cardstock by DCWV, a Gorjuss stamp, and my Copic markers...

The cloud was attached to the girl on the stamp, but I wanted several of it, so I just stamp only the cloud  twice. The one attached to the girl was cut to be placed somewhere else. The little black and white bow is part of the stamp set too.

I did bought quite a few of these cute girl's stamp, and I love coloring them. Already saw one of these on a birthday card, and soon, another with apples for a thank you card...

Thank you for stopping by on your busy Monday (mine are always...), and see you very soon !

Enjoy life - A card with Copper blues stack by DCWV

I needed light and blue sky to cheer me up today and got none of them... So I decided to work with the Copper Blues stack by DCWV to have both ! The shiny copper and the deep blue are perfect to reverse the rainy mood coming up !
With theses papers I created a card for anyone and everyday, just to keep in mind that you should enjoy life...

Glue squares dispenser were handy to adhere everything, even the small parts with the mini glue dots.

You've got my signature on it... seek for the fussy cutting... Can you spot it ?

Have a great day, rain or shine, cold or hot, wherever you are !

October Prima Marketing BAP mixed media layout

Hello crafters !

Fall decided to come over my place and stay for a while, with chilled temperatures and colorful leaves, and it gave me the right mood to create a Autumn layout for the new Prima BAP challenge :

If you compare it to the sketch below, you can see that I turned the page, the lines became words, and the leaves are in the front...

BAP

Some close-ups to see what I used...

Papers are from the 12x12 Tales of You & Me kit. We also have, micro and glass beads, leave die, crackle stamp and the fabulous rub-ons (with mica powder) from Prima Marketing. I just add to these products Gesso, thread, tissue tape (Tim Holtz) and black shoot distress ink (Ranger).

I choose those words because they are few upon those coming up to my mind when I look at my daughters. One layout is not enough for the complete list...

Thank you for the time you spent looking at this post ! I hope you liked what you saw...

See you around for more projects... and have a great week !

Friend Friday with DCWV and Chameleon pens Blog hop

This Friday will start the DCWV & Chameleon pens blog hop ! You will discover a lot of projects created with these two brands on the DCWV's blog and the Chameleon's blog.

The base of this card is a sheet from the Pretty Print Color&Create stack, and the cut out flowers from the Floral Color&Create stack, both by DCWV.

I did colored the base with only two Chameleon pens from the Cool Tones set.
I adhered the flowers with Craft Glue dots.
If the Chameleon pens are new to you, I have a video on YouTube showing you how to create this ombre effect (like the blue on my card).

Don't forget to visit the DCWV's blog and the Chameleon's blog for a chance to win one of the Chameleon pens set !

Have a beautiful day !

October Prima Marketing CAT challenge card

Hello everyone !

Here is my first project for the Prima Marketing challenges for October ! You will see a layout soon...
This is the card sketch I used :

CAT

I created this card with the 12x12 Vintage Emporium collection kit, some vintage flowers, a doilies die (with Fairie Belle paper) and two laces, all from Prima Marketing. I just add drops of Tattered Leather mist (Tattered Angels) and Walnut Stain distress ink to add dimension to the embellishments.

Thank you for stopping by today, I hope you liked what you saw...
See you soon for another project...

DCWV October sketch card

I know that we are in October now. I know I'm supposed to blog in orange and black. But no. You will see one post or two about Halloween, maybe more on my blog. But I cannot help but scrap in all kind of colors !

The October sketch is up on the DCWV's blog, and I used it to create my new card :
And yes, once again I swap the round pattern for a flower... and the stripes of paper became aligned circles... But I used the sketch !

Papers came from the 12x12 Boho Style stack and the 6x6 Basics and Bright stack. Sentiment is a Recollections sticker. Did you notice the fussy cutting ? What a joke ! A Valerie's card without fussy cutting ? It stays one of my favorite techniques...

Have fun with the DCWV sketches, I hope you will create something soon !
See ya !

DCWV October watercolor layout

I know I'm supposed to created for Fall and Halloween right now, but I couldn't help myself but used beautiful bright colors for this layout, made for the October DCWV challenge with this sketch :

But surprisingly, no bright paper... Only white embossed papers from the 12x12 White Embossed stack (DCWV) and distress inks (Ranger) used with a watercolor brush...

So yes, I did cut out the flowers and leaves once I painted them. For the painting, I just applied ink with the watercolor brush on the embossed part of the designs before cutting them. It looks like I've just painted them hand free, don't you think ? But I am no painter, so thank you embossed paper !

You will have until the end of the month to use this sketch to create a layout and send it to DCWV for a chance to win a great prize !

Thank you for stopping by today.
See you tomorrow for another project, a mixed media one for my new DT...

Tim Holtz October mixed media tag

I know it's Sunday... But I didn't have time to create a tag for the October Tim Holtz's mixed techniques challenge yesterday... So here I am in my PJ on a Sunday morning to create an Halloween tag...

I didn't have any of the Tim Holtz's products excepted the distress inks, so here is what I did...
I cut off images from the Haunted Hallows pad by Teresa Collins (an old but loved one) to create the collage and used black gelato instead of distress crayon. I used black and Tea dye distress inks too.

I draw and cut out a pumpkin in 3D, create an embossed effect with a paper blossom tool (Mc Gill), then applied black distress ink to make the embossing pop. I assemblied the pumpkin with 3d dots and a distress leave.

I added a spider web and a cute spider (Blue Moon Beads), a black lace and few staples and my tag was done !
Isn't it frightening cute ?

I wish you a great Sunday and see you for other projects next week...
