Heidi Swapp layout

Hello !

How are you today ? I'm good : Spring is coming again in my life (I'm in France) so I can bloom with scrappy ideas... The one I will share with you was inspired by an old picture of my daughters, playing happily together in a playhouse. The colors made me think immediately at the September Skies collection by Heidi Swapp. Luckily, it fits perfectly the moodboard of this month at Scrapping Clearly ! :

Here is my layout :

Beside the background (paper by Bella Blvd), all I used in this layout came from Heidi Swapp : 6x6 papers pad, stitched cardstock banners, a stickers from the word strip sheet from the September Skies collection, Color Magic chipboard alphas (colored with Copic marker BG018). I added a wood veneer heart by Studio Calico, and a clear pop tab for the final touch.

Of course I had to fussy cut the flowers...

You can see that once the alphas were colored, the pattern appeared :

I choose to colored them with marker, but you can do it with spray too.

I hope this will inspired you and give you a hint of my French Spring !
Have a wonderful day....

Feeling Sketchy card challenge #117

We are already mid-March ! In two month or so it will be end-of-school party and summer BBQ everywhere ! So I use the new sketch of Feeling Sketchy to create my new card. First the sketch :

And the card :

As you can see, I didn't kept much of the sketch... Only the shape and the central element. I use Bella Blvd papers and a digi from our sponsor : Dr Digi !
I did color the stamp first, without knowing I will find the perfect paper in my stash for the colors I choose ! I love that the prints in the blue paper match the theme...

So grab your stash and create something for this fun challenge !
See ya !

Feeling Sketchy Inspiration post

Hello everyone !

I missed my scraproom so much ! It's been almost 3 weeks now I'm away from it ! Two weeks in the mountain, plus a week in Paris. Yes, you read well, Paris, France. My teenager girl has a internship in an Parisian company, so I had to go with her... What a mother will do for her child... I'm filling my day with trip to bookstore and art exhibitions, waiting miserably for my daughter to finish her day of work to go shopping with her... Can you believe they are no more big scrapbook store in Paris !

Anyway... Today is the day I'm supposed to show you an inspirational post for the Feeling Sketchy blog, so I will let my Parisian life away for a while and show you some trick I use when I work with acrylic sheet or album.

Have you ever been afraid of using ink on it ? What if the stamped image is not crisp enough ? Be afraid no more ! Ink will simply go off with a baby wipe.
However, I recommend to use Stazon opaque ink to stamp a prefect image on acrylic, and this ink will need a little bit more to be wiped away.

So stamp your image on the acrylic material,

Apply the all-purpose stamp cleaner (the one you use to clean your rubber or acrylic stamps) on the stamped image.

Wiped it !
And stamp again ! Easy peasy ! Or you could just wipe away a portion of the stamp for a different effect.
Just don't be afraid to use ink on acrylic, it's so much fun !

See you in a snap...

CCB Crew challenge : Get Tangled !

Don't worry ! It's not a coloring challenge about Disney character... It's about using the Tattered Tangle paper line by Tattered Angels... This line is all about doodles and creativity, so it was easy to be inspired !
I created a layout with the Wrapped gifts Tangle paper and some Bahama Blue, Tattered Leather  and Black Magic Glimmer mists, a Studio Calico stencil, some gel medium, Copic markers and glitter Thickers.

Of course I had to fussy cut part of the gifts, they look so much like flowery design to me !

I misted white cardstock with black magic and tattered leather on few spots before applying gel medium over the stencil. After drying the medium completely, I sprayed Bahama blue all over the page, and took off the excess with paper towel. Once I fussy cut the designs I wanted, I colored them with the markers before arranging them around the picture.

I hope you like it, and don't forget to take a look at all the beautiful projects made by the Crew (scroll to the bottom, you will find mine too...) !

March DCWV Stack-a-holic sketches

Hi everyone !

The Guest DT played with the new sketches from the DCWV blog for the March Stack-a-holic challenge, and I did play too with the second sketch :

Here is my card :

I find that the creamy May Art Ribbons were the perfect fit for the bright and gorgeous fushia canvas of the DCWV card, and the bronze chain and beads by Blue Moon Beads made a nice balance to the bright color.

The sentiment is an acrylic stamp by Maya Road. I also add flowers and leaves by I Am Roses.

The top 10 entries will be featured on the blog and 4 of them will be chosen for a prize !
So don't hesitate and play with those sketch. Take a look at the other DT creations for more inspiration !

See ya !
