One layout, two challenges

Yesterday was great for me. I had the entire day for myself, so I decide to make some scrap. The result is a layout about my family preparing for scuba diving in Caribbean. Not all my pictures from these vacations are great, but they are all cherished so I want to include even the less appealing in my scrapbook.

I am very satisfied with the result, and this layout is also a perfect fit for two challenges. One for the sketch with Stuck?! Sketches bi-monthly challenge, one for the colors with Amiche di Scrap challenge blog (in Italian but you will find the translate button on the top right).

Now for the material I use :

K&Company papers, flowers by Petaloo, Recollections, Prima Marketing, crystals by K&Company and Prima Marketing, leaves by I Am Roses
Elegant Edges (circle die) and Home decor (explore) Cricut cartridges, Monotype Corsiva shadow for the yellow text.
Peacock feathers distress ink by Ranger, black ink by Memento, Inkadinkado map stamp, Studio g dots stamp.

I'm not done yet with this cruise scrapbook. You'll gonna see more soon...

Halloween acrylic mini album

'Morning everyone !

We have a crispy weather today in Aberdeen. Feels like winter is already there and make think that I didn't show you my Halloween albums yet.
Let's start with one I made long long ago with an acrylic Victorian album by Prima Marketing (featured in "Scrap pour tous" fall 2009 edition).  I really love working with transparent materials.

The album has two gate on the front, where I put felt gates and flowers by Prima Marketing. I think the papers are from the Magnolia Serene collection by MME.

A lot of fussy cutting with the beautiful flowers from the papers. I used my Create-a-Sticker to put adhesive on them.

Can you see the black Boo sweater with assorted hat on the right ? I crocheted it... The round picture with ghosts is taken from the carved pumpkin (in the making picture below the round one).

I used blue crystal sand for the background of the last page. It was a nightmare to glue them one by one, but love the result.

Hope you like it...

I believe I can fly...

So do you ! Just spread your wings and the world will yours. Sometimes you just have to forget what you are supposed to do or be, and let your self come out. This card is for the multi-tasking women (that what ? all of us ?) who take care of their family, children, friends, pets, home, job, ... and something forget to take care of themselves.

Made with We R Memory Keepers papers (Tiffany's). I just add my personal touch by creating the little escaping birdy.

Hope you can escape somehow today...

More sun please

I know it's not summer anymore. I just have to look outside to be reminded. I got boots, coat and polar fleece when I walked my dog. Snow will follow soon. Last year, same time, I was on a Galveston beach on family vacation and my daughters were surfing... Well, in two weeks I will be back in France, where the summer don't want to leave yet, and I will enjoy again my T-shirts.

So. I will bring some sun into your day (and mine) with this layout. Same beach than the one in the last layout, different mermaid. My youngest is sunkissed. She turn caramel with the first ray.

I used my Cricut E to draw the title with glitter gel pen, and to cut the flowers. I did cut two set of flowers, one to use as a mask with pink mist by Tattered Angels, the other was colored with watercolor crayons. Some purple half pearls (want2scrap) et voila !

Hope you like it...

Wish you a great sunny day !

I got a thing for mermaids

... and I'm lucky enough to have two beautiful sirens at home. And sometimes, they even smile for my camera ! I took this picture during our summer vacation in one of my favorite location, a beach in the South of France near my mother's house.

I use what I found in my Bella Blvd warehouse box from the Sophisticates, Lovey dovey, Plastino, Making the team, Mid term and Spring flings collections.

I hope you got some mermaid in your life too...

Light anyone ?

We have a gray and windy day in Aberdeen. I'm a little down today because we still are in the temporary apartment and I'm missing my scrap stuff so much... I can't wait to have a place to craft again !
Since I'm not in the mood to use the same papers for the 20th time, I will show you instead a project I made long ago. It's full of textures and bright colors, perfect for lighten me up.

I used a lot of ribbons on this one, I even create some more by crocheting (a white one plus crochet around the big blue ribbon under the flower). The brands are numerous : Tim Holtz, Prima Marketing, Costco (yeah, again !), Celebrate it, Hobby Lobby, Scrapabilities... I found that the better way to glue ribbons without staining them is to use Fabric-Tac.

The Flower is from and old collection (Michaels). It has wait a long time before being used, but I knew I will used it, one day.
I bought the lamp at Walmart and sprayed it in white.

You can have a better look at this project in the last Simply Handmade : Decor (Sept 13).

I wish you sunshine today (wish some for me too please)...
